Regency Park Hotel

Quietly situated hotel. Good breakfasts especially when plated to order (over Christmas). Deluxe bedroom (222) very dated, especially bathroom. Corridor suffocatingly warm despite radiator being turned off (underfloor heating?). Entrance and public areas well presented, some staff friendlier than others. Housekeeping lady (originally from Hungary) deserves special praise; reception staff a bit frosty. No functioning lifts in hotel, although assistance offered on arrival. Hotel previously used by Home Office to house asylum seekers although most I believe have now moved on from the area. Rooms do not smell fresh, some above kitchen and others overlook refuse area to rear of hotel. Not sure if I will return.

Just returned from a 3 night stay. We had a good stay. Bedrooms large . Nice public areas. Breakfast good. Excellent value for money. Plenty of parking. Staff pleasant. Some aspects need a little updating but for a short break it didn't affect our stay Very handy for us visiting family in Thatham

The hotel got it right ,in all areas

It was a couple - why did you ask me about a high chair? It had its own car park, why did you point me towards ‘street parking’? There may have been a ‘damp’ problem, because they had lots of ‘smelly plug-ins’, not good for ‘asthmatics’!

The hotel was clean and comfortable, our bed was very comfy, and the breakfast spread was varied and delicious. Unfortunately on arrival we were greeted with litter in the parking lot which is a terrible first impression. Shame on the person who chose to throw their rubbish out where they parked, instead of putting it in the bin, merely steps away. We would book another stay.

Based on previous visit this tired noughties style hotel with its chips and rips gets no points for customer service. Booked through Booking.Com for 19.12.24 then my client changed the date for the job to Monday 16.12.24. Booking .Com said a change of dates was matter for the hotel. Contacted hotel to change the dates but they refused. I left my name and number for the reservation manager to call and discuss the matter. They didn't bother ringing back The hotel wasn't booked up and were still had rooms available. This is the first hotel to refuse to change date whilst keeping the money.

Good location, and there was plenty of parking. Our room was lovely, very large with a seating area. The bed was not comfortable, and the pillows were awful. The bathroom was more dated. We did not have dinner, and breakfast was pretty average. Unfortunately it was extremely noisy during the night. There was a constant buzzing. At first we thought it was the air conditioning, but it was actually a generator or other machine right outside our window. In addition to this there were several parties and there was banging and inconsiderate talking in the corridors until the early hours. Okay, it was December and party season, but the hotel could get dampers for the doors. They are not expensive and make all the difference.
