Alila Manggis, Bali

This hotel was absolutely one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. For me, it was absolutely perfect. Quiet, beautiful, and impeccable service. The manager literally made a point to check in with every guest daily to make sure things were ok. The room was comfortable and all had gorgeous views from with a private balcony or patio (on the first floor). You have read in other reviews about THE FOOD and they are all understated. The food here was incredible and worth the stay alone. The breakfast every morning and chatting with the delightful staff made for a very special stay. Thanks to everyone at alila! It is worth checking out the "white sand beach" nearby too.

The friendly and helpful staff made the stay a time to remember. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. We made a later checkout and after spending time at the beach, the Hotel gave us a room to shower and refresh. They organized everything very good and we would come again!

The Alila Manggis is a really special place. It is perfect for those who would like a quiet, relaxing holiday amongst like minded travellers. The management and staff are magnificent, the food exquisite, and the setting sublime. It attracts diverse nationalities, mostly European, which we enjoy - having spent the first part of our trip elsewhere in Bali enduring the antics of a very loud group of fellow Australians. This area of Bali is for those wanting to experience the Bali of yesteryear - not the Seminyak of today, so if you are looking for brand name shopping, bars, nightlife, this is not the place for you.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Alila Manggis and I love it After the hussle and bustle of a week in Seminyak, this is pure relaxation. From the warm welcome and the attentive service , the great restaurant and day spa facilities, to snorkelling all morning at Blue Lagoon! High tea on the rolling lawns every afternoon is just anther special touch. The local town is very quiet but Ubud is only an hour away if a spot of shopping is required.Yoga is also available and the pool is set on the lawns that is peppered by palms and looks onto the ocean.This is the place to relax and unwind.

Beautiful grasses grounds surrounding pool overlooking ocean with coconut palms and tropical island feel. All rooms overlook pool and ocean but the Deluxe rooms on the second level have a daybed where you can relax in the afternoon after spending a day in the sun. Rooms are nice but fairly basic. Staff were fantastic and very helpful and friendly. Restaurant was very nice but if you are staying for a number of nights a trip into Candi Dasa is close by with some really good restaurants. Tours arranged by hotel were fantastic and very reasonably priced, we did the fishing in a locals fishing boat which my husband thought was awesome the bonus being he caught some Jackfish and Kingfish which the Chef prepared for us for lunch which was beautiful. We also did the snorkeling which was fun and the Rice Paddie & Jungle Trek finishing in a local village which was also fun being that my husband hates walking or Trekking but found it really interesting with fantastic views and the tour guide very informative. To top it all ... Great place, definitely return again.

I have been reading a lot about the Hotel on the reviews , and to be honest i found it much better than what i expected , i went there in October the weather was perfect ( too much humid though ) . The Hotel is perfect , the room ( Superior Room ) is clean and tidy and big enough ( remember this is not a suite in a 5 stars hotel ) , the TV is not good at all , but actually i didn't use it that much , The bathroom is very convenient to the place and it just gives the same sense the place does. The hotel service is excellent , the SEA SALT restaurant which is located in the hotel is offering a good menu but the it is a little over priced than other restaurants located outside the hotel. The Pool is very Nice , and the Sea ( no sandy beach ) is good too but it is not the best , and the Hotel keeps offering complementary drinks as long as you are on the Pool side . I really enjoyed the Trip and i would love to go back there again.
