"great place, staff is okay, would stay again"

the location was nice, right off the highway and we enjoyed the jacuzzi in our room

the pool and hot tub were down for our entire stay, had to ask for towels multiple times due to them not having any ready for our room.

"Country Inn and Suites - Couldn't Get Out Fast Enough!!!"

Got it — I tightened the flow, kept it professional, and added your new details without letting it feel chaotic or overly emotional: --- I stayed at this hotel based on a recommendation from a recruiting company, and unfortunately the experience raised serious concerns regarding both safety and cleanliness. The only positive aspect of my stay was the front desk staff, who were kind and courteous. Beyond that interaction, the experience declined significantly across all areas of the property. The hotel was presented as a standard mid-range (3-star) property, which should reasonably reflect a clean, safe, and adequately maintained environment with functional amenities and basic guest security. That standard was not met. Upon arrival, the property immediately felt outdated and poorly maintained. The building has only one elevator, which was not operational during my stay, requiring exclusive use of the stairs. Hallways were in visibly poor condition with stained carpeting, and common areas and doors appeared unclean and neglected. The fitness room contained minimal equipment—including an elliptical, stationary bike, weight rack, and bench—but the air conditioning unit was deteriorating and the equipment itself was in disrepair. The pool area also appeared visibly unclean. There was a persistent odor of marijuana throughout the property, and the general environment felt unsafe due to individuals loitering in common areas and the parking lot. A significant safety concern was that exterior side doors with vehicle access appeared to be unsecured, allowing entry without consistent key card access. This falls well below expected safety standards for even a basic hotel. The condition of my room was also unacceptable. Bedding and towels had visible stains, furniture was torn and worn, and both dead and live insects were present. The bathroom showed visible cracking and signs of poor maintenance and cleanliness. After showering, the room felt less clean than when I arrived. The door lock was also faulty and unintuitive, further contributing to a lack of security. I did not feel safe sleeping in the room and took additional measures to secure the door throughout my stay. Housekeeping standards appeared inconsistent, and I did not feel confident in the cleanliness of either the room or the facilities. Even basic offerings such as breakfast were not at a standard I felt comfortable consuming due to overall hygiene concerns. A recent guest review also noted a rat sighting in the dining area, so I limited myself to coffee only. On the last day, while getting coffee, a couple overheard me expressing concerns about the property and independently shared that they had experienced very similar issues, which further reinforced my impressions of the hotel. After completing my assignment, I quickly packed my belongings and left the property as soon as possible with the intention of not returning. It was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Overall, the property did not reflect even basic expectations for a 3-star hotel in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, or guest safety. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances. I also feel the accommodations provided by the arranging company were significantly misrepresented compared to what was promised for a professional assignment. After checkout, I immediately bagged and shook out all of my belongings and inspected them thoroughly due to concern about exposure to insects during my stay. I would strongly recommend considering the Holiday Inn Express, which has consistently strong reviews and was the property I had initially requested through my company.

"3 star? More like go far…away from this place!"

I stayed at this hotel based on a recommendation from a recruiting company, and unfortunately the experience was extremely concerning from both a safety and cleanliness standpoint. This property was presented as a standard mid-range (3-star level) hotel. A typical 3-star hotel should provide a clean, safe, and reliably maintained environment with functional facilities, consistent housekeeping, and basic guest security. That was not reflective of my experience. Upon arrival, there was no front desk staff present during check-in, and the overall property felt outdated and poorly maintained. There is only one elevator in the entire building, and it was not functioning during my stay, which meant I had to use the stairs exclusively. The hallways were in very poor condition with visible stains throughout the carpeting, and doors and common areas also appeared stained and unclean. The fitness room was minimally equipped and in disrepair, and the pool area appeared visibly unclean. Throughout the property, there was a strong odor of marijuana, and the general environment felt unsafe due to individuals loitering in common areas and the parking lot. A major safety concern was that side exterior doors with vehicle access appeared to be left unlocked, meaning entry into the building did not consistently require a key card. This is below what would be expected for even a basic 3-star standard of guest security. My room was also in unacceptable condition. There were stains on the bedding and towels, torn and stained furniture, and I found both dead and live insects present. The bathroom had visible cracks and felt poorly maintained and unclean. After showering, I honestly felt dirtier than before using the facilities. The door lock mechanism was also faulty and unintuitive, which added to the sense of insecurity. I did not feel safe sleeping in the room and took additional steps to secure the door during my stay. Housekeeping standards were questionable, and I did not feel comfortable trusting the cleanliness of the room or facilities. Even basic amenities such as breakfast were subpar, and I chose not to eat there due to concerns about hygiene. Overall, the conditions throughout the building felt extremely unsanitary and not consistent with even basic 3-star hotel standards for cleanliness, maintenance, or safety. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances. I also felt misled by the company that arranged this housing, as the conditions were significantly below what was represented for a professional assignment. After checkout, I immediately shook out all of my belongings and clothing and inspected everything for insects due to the conditions of the room.

"Don't recommend"

The door on our room didnt latch properly, strike plate wasn't attached , hanging off. Was able to just open it with credit card. Lamp had no bulb. Dresser was out of date, drawers wouldnt even stay closed. Toilet was gross. Window didnt lock or even close all the way. Had no towels or wash rags. Had to go to the desk and get them. All drawers had dirt/ hair in them. Would never recommend this place. Only gave it 2 stars cause the bed was comfortable and free breakfast.

"Do not stay here!"

This hotel should not have a certificate of occupancy currently. We went with 6 other couples and everyone found this hotel to be disgusting. Our rooms were dirty, the bathrooms had toilets that did not work. One room had stains behind the toilet from previous guest. One couple had no pillows or towels in their room and the bathroom floors were sticky and had not been cleaned. Their TV's were offline and not working along with their wifi. While sitting in the breakfast room after we came back from attending a wedding, a mouse ran out of the cupboards where they stored their breakfast food and ran across the floor. Do not stay at this hotel!

"Just okay"

It was over all just okay…. Stay for 3 nights at the rock falls IL location. TVs didn’t have any connection which we were told once we asked that they lost service and comcast is supposed to be fixing it for two days now. The breakfast was cold despite being there at start time. Employees were friendly. Room was clean despite needing upgrades and repairs. Bed was comfortable. The pool was colder than an ice bath and the hot tub was out of order which is what we were looking forward too most. People were quiet and respectful. Feel like they are charging too much for what it is.
