Property may have been used for a nursing home/ half way house. Outside door to patio didnt lock. Room stunk of smoke, bathroom was dirty, wires were sticking directly out of the wall attached to nothing. Microwave didnt work
Pretty disappointed in this hotel, but mostly because it had a high rating of 8.2. This hotel was more of a 5. Sketchy area, sketchy locals hanging out in lobby and front, and smells like smoke throughout the hotel. The pictures make it look much nicer than it is
Good location for us.
Everything was fine, we are just passing through on our way to Maine
I started in a room with a loud party across the hall and a dysfunctional key card. Moved to a room with no TV. Then put in a room where the AC was blasting warm air. Couldn't be fixed and no fan available. Finally moved to room that became available because "they were just here for a quickie", according to the manager. Once they changed the bedding and I got the "ick" factor suppressed, it was a good bed, AC, TV. All bathrooms were in poor condition and had exposed fixtures. Security guard sat on his rear looking at his phone each of 5 times I passed him. One elevator, a few hundred rooms (5 floors), no staff elevator, pool closed for season, only ice/vending on ground floor, "hot buffet breakfast" was a paper bag to go. I understand covid, but geez. Make at least a token attempt to make sure on-line travel bookingsites have correct information. I would not stay here again if you paid me to do so.
My friend booked 5 rooms for 7/16-7/17/21. Three couples arrived around 5pm, I arrived around 6pm. First impression was we saw homeless people in front of the hotel, after we entered to the lobby one of my friend came down and complain about smoking in the room, another couple also waiting at same time complain about smoking odor in the room. My other friend also encounter a man on the 3rd floor lobby smoking marijuana. Best Western Plus suppose is a better quality hotel than other Best Western brand, now this hotel turn into homeless shelter. The Manager on duty tried to get us rooms in other hotel, the process was so slow because he was helping other couple. It forced us to decide to drive all the way home, it was a long drive, most of us arrived home midnight around 1-2am . On the website it should mention that the location was provide rooms for homeless, then we will not have to go through all this trouble. We also used gift card, it was not retuned to my account. I had to call this morning and waited 30 minutes in order to speak to the agent.
friendly staff and clean rooms.
Desperately needs some TLC- the halls and rooms smell like stale cigarettes
Outside pool not open. Police officer sat in lobby for half a day then followed shady people around the hotel as they got in elevators. The chairs on my balcony broken. Neglected, didn’t feel safe. Expect to find chain smokers hanging out front all day. I am only disappointed because my rate was not low and last minute minute booking. Had I paid low rent and known it was such, would expect this. Completely blindsided. Breakfast was decent and staff were very nice.
There was seedy traffic in and out of the hotel during the day and especially at night (there were security personnel sitting in chairs on floors at night). Hallways smelled like pot. Fridge froze our food, there was no security lock on our door, bathroom fan was falling out of place. This place needs some serious TLC. We were with a large group and others had similar stories.
