The place is very dingy looking. And the people that are outside when you pull in are sketchy. Not sure if it’s half housing our something. But definitely was spooked out of my mind staying there. Front desk was great! Cheerful and friendly so that was plus.
It is suppose to be a non-smoking hotel. The hall way and our room reeked of smoke all night neither of us could sleep we were sick from the smoke. I did complain. There were cigarette burn on the top blanket. The bathroom was dirty and the sink not on wall very well. We have stayed there in past and were shocked by the state of the hotel. There was also only one set of towels in bathroom for two people had to ask for another.
It is ok, there’s not much to do around the area and it looks old and dirty.
Staff was friendly and professional. Location was convenient for us. Building is a bit run down. Our showerhead had a leak and the elevator is pretty beat up.
Hotel website shows updated rooms but the room we were in hasn’t been updated ever. Room smelled like smoke, guests in neighboring room were smoking and we could smell it.
Stayed here during our trip to Salem. Besides never being able to find someone at the front desk, the staff was nice and the continental breakfast was good. The room seemed clean, but there was a plastic bag over the sprinkler in the bathroom. Overall I am pleased with my stay here as an affordable option in a reasonably distanced town to Salem.
Decent place but very aged, and not gracefully. The tissue holder in the bathroom was rusted, there were places where the wallpaper was peeling from the wall, the furniture reminded me of my great grandmother's (i.e. the pieces were "antiques") and we didn't even try to use the shower.. But everything appeared to be clean, if not well-kept.
Had a bad feeling when pulled up to this hotel. The trash can was over filled with garbage around it. There were several people (with a dog) just hanging out in the front. Our room was on first floor - through an additional door. All night heard that door slamming. Our tub was cast iron with rusted chips on it. Ceiling had black lines on it (mold???). Would not recommend
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean, but they didn’t have ANY wash cloths and limited towels which I found very weird. We had to visit a near by Walgreens to our purchase wash cloths.
Terrible hotel, in terrible shape. Supposed to be a non smoking hotel and it smelled heavily of cigarette and marijuana smoke. Hundreds of cigarette butts outside my room windows(see photo). Evidently people live at the hotel through some program and cant be held accountable or kicked out. Not worth the money, stay at the Marriot Courtyard instead.
