Azambezi River Lodge

We spent 2 nights in the ZRL as a base to see the Victoria Falls. . The lodge is located on the banks of the Zambesi River about a 15 minute drive from the falls. The room was large, the shower was good. The wifi was good. The breakfast was pretty good. The staff were helpful and friendly. The air-conditioning was essential and worked well. There were lots of animals (monkeys, wart hogs, mongooses) grazing in the grounds. We were advised not to go walking out of the lodge area as lions are also in the area. Overall a pleasant stay

We had a wonderful stay at A'Zambezi River Lodge. The rooms were very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the service and food in the restaurant was delicous.

Very friendly staff, straightforward check in. Free shuttle to Victoria Falls.

Quite expensive for the overall standard of accommodation and facilities. Only filter coffee available in restaurant. One staff member caused confusion when we were waiting for our taxi back to the airport.

Very well located on the banks of the Zambezi River. Grounfs frequented by some wild animals. Rooms were a good size with an excellent shower. Wifi was verygood. Breakfast was also very good and staff were great

Ruva at breakfast and babra at the dinner service were 10 out of 10, also Tafadazwa on the bar remember our preferred drinks and made a great cocktail. Ty he rooms were always cleaned and the food was great.

This has always been my favourite Hotel in Vic Falls. Location wise it is stunning, situated right on the south bank of the mighty Zambezi River and with traditional thatched roofs it has a great vibe. The staff are friendly and service is reasonably good, but the price of food and drinks in this Hotel have become ridiculous (in my humble opinion) US$4 for a can of Coke, when it's $2 or at worst $2-50 in restaurants in Vic Falls Town is pure highway robbery. Likewise this morning we had the buffet breakfast, thinking it would be about US$15, only to find out on check out when we told them we had breakfast that it was US$30 per person. I might stay here again but I won't be visiting the bar and I won't be eating in the restaurant. There are plenty of very good and more reasonably priced alternatives in Vic Falls Town.

Our meals exceeded our expectations, with fabulous service and ambience of the restaurant. We had the warthog kebabs, vegetarian kebabs, chicken schnitzel and the bream fillets with garlic butter sauce and salad. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, as well as Pina coladas and gin and tonics. They also provide some traditional African dancing for entertainment. A further highlight was an elephant strolling through the grounds of the restaurant - what a treat! Highly recommended eating venue.

This sprawling 2 storey hotel is along the Zambezi River. It has magnificent gardens, outdoor pool and wildlife such as hippos, deer and warthog feeding on the lawn, usually after dusk. Rooms are reasonably sized, with ground floor ones having garden views and access. The food is good but the service is generally slow. Seems to be short of staff, especially during peak hours. Unlike other hotels, their policy now is not to allow charging of bills to the room account. Instead you have to settle each bill immediately. This can be a nuisance for guests. Hotel does arrange for additional activities like tours, transfers etc. Mostly level terrain, ramps available usually next to stairs

The River Lodge had great staff , nothing was a problem except the wi-fi was really terrible , could do with a big improvement other members in our group said the same thing.

We really enjoyed our stay here, staff were very helpful and getting to see the Hippos and Elephants on our last night come to the resort was amazing. Belinda and Darryl
