DoubleTree by Hilton San Juan

We went to Puerto Rico for spring break. This was an overall great experience. My favorite part: We took the valet to the beach on our next to last day. What a great service and ZIP, you’re right there! We had a great guy drive us over and a great young man make sure we had towels, chairs, and umbrellas. Nice nice nice!! On the way back to the hotel, this mama started talking with the valet, William. His name tag said WILLIAM and he told us all about life and living in Puerto Rico. What a great young man, this fella William! As good as a valet as he is, someone needs to snatch him up for management and fast before someone else gets to him. We will be back, Puerto Rico, and thank you, William and Doubletree! Mama Beene

Great location not to far from beach convenient with golf cart pick up. Loved the pool area felt like a private little tropical oasis. Bright open lobby. Nice restaurant and bar. Loved the shower. Enjoyed free water and warm baked cookies upon arrival.

Little bit pricey in the restaurant/ bar. Need to clean the windows of the rooms from the outside.

The staff was excellent and thoughtful.

Wish there was a fan or different door for the bathroom in the room. Pool looked a little dated.

We stayed at the doubletree by Hilton for our February vacation. The stay was perfect. The shuttles to the beach were so easy and helpful. William the valet was especially nice and shared ideas with us for where to dine and things to see.

The location of the hotel is convenient to both the cruise port and the airport, however, the surrounding areas are not nearly as pleasant. Upon check-in, it was almost immediately noted that the shower door did not seal and the bathroom floor would flood with each shower. This was brought to the attention of the front desk and housekeeping as additional towels were frequently needed. During our stay, there were many, many unattended juveniles running rampant around the property - in the hot tub, ruining the pool table, running through the pool area, creating a disturbing experience for any other unaffiliated guests. On more than one evening, the lobby band could be clearly heard in the room, which is fine if you're not having to wake up at 05:30 each morning for work. We were incorrectly advised that due to loyalty status, there would be a complimentary credit at the on-site chocolatier/gift shop, however, upon reconciliation of the check, we were told otherwise and that the initial information was wrong because this property was outside of the US. Reconciliation of the check took three attempts, as front desk staff continually pushed the buck to other shifts and other staff members. True and correct accounting was finally done on the day of checkout. Somehow, this "resort" can charge resort fees even though housekeeping is not done daily, there is minimal storage, and waters are not refilled daily. The Hilton television would not allow for a HDMI plug use for work related preparation. The Hilton television channel is also not up to date, as it listed multiple restaurants which had been closed for a bit. Overall, it was a room over my head and a shower (albeit typically cold) to use daily, but not my first choice of lodging. The Doubletree by Hilton brand carries a badge of respect which this property failed to live up to.

Stayed here for 5 days, and highly recommend. Very nicely appointed room, extremely friendly staff, good pool area (with cabanas, lots of seating and hot tub), and appreciated those warm cookies each night :-) Location was great - a short walk (or free shuttle) to their beach, easy walking distance to the many, many restaurants in Condado, across the street from a big supermarket, and a short drive (or nice long walk) into Old San Juan, and easy access to highways to visit rainforest and other sites.
