Check in staff was incredibly cranky.

Upon arrival the staff was very friendly happy, the night staff appeared to not like her job and was a bit grumpy but other than that it was great

Only thing made us a bit nervous was what appeared to be a homeless man who was very angry both nights as he hung around the hotel yelling and cursing at himself I guess. But stared at people a lot making it a bit uncomfortable

This Country In is in the perfect spot close to universities, military school and downtown area with many great pubs and restaurants. Also very close to St Patrick’s Catholic Church and 2 others on campus of Washington n Lee University, a magnificent college!!!

The breakfast was decent. The location was good. The parking was tight. We had very noisy water pipes. They squealed when the hot water was turned on.

The location off the highway was great! The beds were okay and the breakfast was basically but okay.

It was around 9pm when we checked in and the blue haired lady behind the desk was rude and acted like we were bothering her by existing. We got to our room and went down to get into the hot tub because we had been driving for 10 hours and the jets didn't work. We thought maybe we were not doing something correctly so my husband went to the front desk to inform/ask about the jets and again, she acted annoyed that she had to come and look at it and stated that the pool area closes at 10pm (It was only 9:30pm). We just wanted to relax our back and legs a bit before getting a few hours of sleep and get back on the road. The morning staff was night and day difference, welcoming and polite. We chose this hotel because of the hot tub, that's it. There are several hotels next to this one and wish we would have spent our money anywhere else. No jets in the hot tub, an okay mattress but could definitely be replaced. We never wanted to get back on the road faster.
