We had such an extraordinary stay at Hotel Villa Ducale in Taormina. This hotel is a hidden gem on the top of the Taormina cliffs looking down at the whole valley and the beautiful Mediterranean ocean below. Our room was beautifully appointed, with gorgeous Italian towels & linens and we had such a beautiful view of Mount Etna and the entire valley & Sea The staff throughout the entire complex is so friendly, incredibly helpful, everyone from the reception desk, to the bartender, waiters in the chic open air restaurant along with the housekeeping staff, valet parking guys and the shuttle drivers. Special thanks to Guilianna, Julio, Max, and all the reception and restaurant staff. Their breakfast is amazing with so much choice and the best melons I’ve had in my lifetime.. There’s a free shuttle that runs down to the main part of town several times a day and they will pick you up as well to bring you home.

Far from center of town. No elevator. Only stairs to get your bags and luggage up and down

This boutique hotel is aiming high with the service provided by the staff and the overall feel. Our room was lovely with two balconies, one with sunbeds and an absolutely stunning view. The hotel restaurant and bar are excellent options if you do not feel like going into town. The hotel is located way up the hill from town but the hotel provides a shuttle and there is also a path to walk down into town.

The exhaust fan from the restaurant sounds like a jet engine and was noisy which we felt took away from the experience.

The view is fabulous. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast offerings were not up to the level of what we expected at a hotel of this quality and expense.

We had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant at Villa Ducale. Our waiter, Francesco, was wonderful and provided us with recommendations for every course - all of them on point. The restaurant itself has amazing views of the coast which we enjoyed before, during and after sunset. We travel a lot and very much appreciate knowledgeable waiters who can guide our dining experience - Francesco did just this. The food was outstanding. Our group of four enjoyed appetizers, entrees of pork, lamb, steak and sea bass ravioli and finished it off with crispy and delicious cannolis, coffee and limoncello. Truly la dolce vita!

This is it! The very best place to stay in Taormina with breathtaking views, amazing service and the most hospitable staff that treated us like VIP’s( Thank you Santina!). I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to going back to enjoy the perfect Sicilian holiday. They took care of our car and parked it safely away during our time in Taormina. We took advantage of the convenient shuttle up and down to the town center(5 minutes away). The view and experience at this hotel is what one dreams about and Villa Ducale delivers it all the way. Stop searching- this is it!!! Complimenti to the staff who made us feel like family and very special. We had an amazing room with a terrace where we enjoyed our lunch- the food was delicious. Every morning the breakfasts were so wonderful- Max always gives you service with his charm! It was hard to leave but we will definitely go back whenever we go back to Taormina!
