Hotel Villa Ducale

The excellent reviews of the hotel are all justified; it's an unrivaled location with astounding views of Naxos and Etna. However, the standout person who made our stay feel like family, and made each breakfast magnificent was Max (Massimo). We've stayed at plenty of luxury resorts before, but vanishingly rare is the feeling the staff actually cares about you as a person. Max is that marvelous exception: his warmth, generosity of spirit and attentiveness to the smallest detail made our stay at the Villa Ducale ideal.

The accommodations were impeccable. Beautiful, clean with a spectacular view. However, it was the staff that was exemplary. They all went above and beyond for us. Their concern for their guests and kindness to them made our stay perfect. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Ducale for 3 nights on our honeymoon and had such a memorable time. The staff and team at Villa Ducale are absolutely incredible and make you feel so incredibly welcome. In particular, Max and Giuseppi were so kind, welcoming and accommodating to us. Max has such a warm and infectious personality and each day greeted us so warmly, meeting him was one of the highlights of our stay! On top of the incredible team, the views at the property are sensational and arguably the best in Taormina. The town centre can be quite hectic, so it was so nice and peaceful to have our own oasis to escape to. The hotel also offers a very convenient free shuttle service to and from town as well as private beach clubs so you are always well connected. Thank you hotel villa ducale team for making us feel so welcome and ensuring we had an incredibly memorable stay ❤️

Wonderful stay. Top notched service from everyone. Amazing views. Tasty breakfast with many choices. Dinner in their restaurant was very good. It’s a bit far from Corso Umberto, which was a plus for us. The complimentary shuttle was a great service and easy to book. Quiet, great A/C, and ample closet and drawers. The only very minor issue was our room lacked a bidet, which was unusual for Italy.

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. We drove up the hill and were greeted with the valet Tony who was very kind and professional and took care of our luggage and car. The hotel is seated on the hill with a stunning view and the staff were very welcoming. They were very kind to provide us with many dining recommendations and arranged reservations for local beach clubs and shuttles. The front desk staff works tirelessly to offer 24hr service and it really makes a difference as a guest. The shuttle into town is such an excellent service provided by the hotel. Couldnt have lived without it. The walk down into town was actually quite easy which we did every morning and it was lovely. Max was such a warm and friendly face to see at breakfast. He was always so kind and helpful, making our stay a memorable one. Fabio was very thoughtful to have brought me lemon with my tea without me having to ask since he noticed I had lost my voice. We highly recommend this gem of a hotel even after staying at Atlantis Bay, as it provides a different but beautiful perspective of Taormina.

After a lot of research to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, we chose Hotel Villa Ducale for a 5 night stay. What can I say, after a long career involving stays in many hotels around the world, Villa Ducale is easily up there in my TOP 5. The hotel is high the hill side overlooking the bay. It is spotless. We were given a very warm welcome after a long journey with a glass of Prosecco on the restaurant terrace whilst our luggage was taken to our room. The room (Room 11) was fabulous with a private balcony overlooking the sea and a great view of Mt Etna to the right. We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first and last nights and it did not disappoint as the food, wine and service were 1st class. On the first night we did have some confusion over ordering my wife a glass of rose or a bottle. When I said that we had ordered a bottle, the glass was NOT charged, even thought I felt it was probably my fault for the confusion. All staff that we spoke to spoke perfect English. We usually like to try to get by on the local language wherever we are, but there was no need to in the hotel. I would also like to make a special mention of the young lady at reception (Sorry but cannot remember her name)....she was very helpful in all aspects and even recommended some good restaurants down in Taormina. We tried two of them and they were indeed excellent. We tended to walk down the steps into Taormina behind the Chiesa Madonna della Rocca building, but used the free shuttle service every night back up to the hotel. Again the drivers were excellent. The pool is over the road and was always quiet and peaceful when we were there. A welcome relief to a hot and dusty day. I would strongly advise anyone driving to the hotel, to reserve valet parking. The guys in the hotel are able to manoeuvre the cars around the very tight car park. You really do need the valet parking. Finally, we had to depart very early for our flight home. I requested that our hire car was positioned to allow us to drive straight out of the car park. This was no problem at all and the hotel even provide a packed breakfast for us. We will definitely try to visit again.

Starting by saying that Taormina is one of those places full of magic. Beautiful and with so much history that mix in making this place unique. Villa Ducale Hotel was an inmense part responsible for the great and special time my wife and I had in Taormina. We stayed in a very comfortable and beautiful room, private, with our own terrace in front of the most amazing view. The bathroom, shower, closet and other service areas of the room were really spacious, clean and modern. Something I really value on these kind of trips where you want to relax and the room you stay in becomes an important thing in the whole trip. Finally, the service was outstanding!! All in the front desk were really special and warm, always looking out for us in every sense. One very handy thing i found was the 24/7 whastapp chat we had with them. Important for booking shuttles up and down, restaurants and bars reservations, etc. Finally, i can say that out of the 4 hotels we stayed in in the trip (sicily, sorrento and serdegna) Villa Ducale had the best and most personalized service, by far! Just one thing was out of place for us in the hotel, and was the food in the hotel’s restaurant… honestly I wasn’t expecting this “fancy” type of food, were they try to hard and put enphasys on the “look” of the plates and mix of sweet flavours on salty food that we didn’t like at all. I mean, being in Italy, one good “trattoria” like restaurant would be amazing.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel is in a league of its own. Tucked up above the charming streets of Taormina, this boutique gem strikes the perfect balance between understated elegance and heartfelt hospitality. Daniel will greet you sharing their unique history, Max and Fabio with a refreshing drink or bite to eat on the enchanting terrace. This is the kind of place you hesitate to review, only because you want to keep it a secret—a rare find.

We had a fabulous honeymoon stay at Hotel Villa Ducale. The staff were exceptional in making us feel welcomed, valued, and supported throughout our stay. They helped arrange excursions and transport with minimal fuss, and the shuttle bus to Taormina is a very valuable free service. The staff when dining either at breakfast or dinner were very friendly and personable, making for a very relaxing experience. The room was lovely and both the room and hotel have truly incredible views. The only downside was the pool was across the road from our room, but this was the only minor inconvenience. Highly recommend and we will definitely return in the future!
