Malmaison Manchester

Always loved The Mal for its quirkiness, 17yo daughter was impressed. Cool decor, DJ in the bar, comfy rooms with air con. Only quibble is there was only 1 very flat pillow per bed, daughter nabbed the spare, i could have done with another and Im sure they would have provided but we were tired and i cluldnt be bothered to ask! Some better quality pillows wouldn't go amiss. Bedside tables a little tired looking and a spot behind the bathroom door had not been cleaned.

All satisfactory, nice clean room, very good staff

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night whilst visiting our daughter who lives in Manchester. Nice hotel, lovely central location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was small but fine for 1 night. We had an issue where I found a sticking plaster stuck to my leg in the morning and it was not mine or my husband’s. This freaked both myself and my husband and Rebecca appeared to fully understand. Rebecca was very apologetic, promised to investigate and refunded 50% off of our stay on check out. A week later she had still not got back to me and, when I phoned the hotel, she was a bit cooler towards me saying they did not find out why a sticking plaster was in the bed. She offered me a percentage off a future stay but when I said we would not be staying there again she offered me the other 50% refund as an apology which I accepted. I deducted 1 star for this as I know she was avoiding me and felt it was up to them to get back to me and not the other way round. I felt the hotel did the right thing by me in the end and guess I was just unlucky.

Great hotel, friendly staff and so neat to train station

Room was clean and spacious. Quiet at night. V handy to train stop n city centre. Last minute breakfast booking which was given complementary. Would recommend n will use again

Good central hotel, very nice public areas and friendly reception staff. Picked for close proximity to Piccadilly station and only a short walk away. The Friday night sleep experience was somewhat ruined by some young people slamming doors and having loud conversations with another room at 3am! Not the hotel's fault but something to be wary of if you like your sleep! Saturday much quieter and a good night's sleep was had. Rooms was a bit tired if I am being honest, very clean but signs of wear and tear, chips in bath enamel and carpet areas slightly worn. Well equipped room though with everything you would expect from a Malmaison. We did not eat at the hotel but did have drinks at the bar and this was a good experience and the staff were very friendly. Taxi rank outside and no issues getting an Uber pick up.

Rooms are looking a bit tired but the public spaces are nice. A bit loud with the central location but a good area for the train station and walkable to the main shopping areas.
