Sunscape Sabor Cozumel

Good spot.

My Husband age 94, and I were there March 3 - March 12, 2025. This made it our 5th stay at Sabor; our 15th trip to Cozumel since 2001. Would definitely go back. The staff at this resort were friendly, they work hard to please each guest and so accomodating, Specially the Sunny Cafe hostess Lelany, and at the Patio Glendy. The waiters: Germain, Miguel, Ciro, Antonio, Reyes. Bartenders were all efficient. Entertainment was awesome: Mexican Folklore, Mayan Show, the Mardi Gras parade. Raul provided day programs; taught us simple Spanish, afternoon volleyball, morning exercise. He really kept things moving. We had some of the best order off the menu meals. Breakfast was the only buffet style meal. Wish more meals were buffet offerings to try more Mexican native foods. Missed seeing the Mariachi's this year.

This was our 2nd trip to this resort. We like it because it is small, no one bugs you to “buy in” if you say no once. The rooms are clean, the pool is big and has done activities, but not too loud and obnoxious. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the food has enough options for anyone to find something. We love the authentic Mexican food served there. Special shout out to Captain Ricardo, hostesses Glendy, Leylen, and Michele. Also waiter/ bartenders Rene, Antonio, Reyes and Carolina. We like it there so much we are planning to go back next year and bring our entire family- kids, spouses and grandkids. I hope it’s still there. I know the properties on each side want the Sunscape space, but in my opinion, Sunscape is what people picture when they go to Mexico, the other places look like condo complexes from Miami or LA- And have the same vibe. Not for me.

Small resort, so it was perfect just to relax on the beach. The staff went out of its way to make you comfortable. The buffet on the beach was incredible.

It wasn’t over crowded or filled with young spring breakers. You didn’t have to get up early to have a chair at the pool. Food selection wasn’t great but we still always found something to eat. Entertainment staff was phenomenal!

Worst all-inclusive hotel I have ever stayed at. Not what pictures show. No TV service. Rooms dirty smelly outdated. No coffee maker in room. 2 restaurants only. Food bland greasy covered on different sauces. No real good tasting Mexican food or fresh fish. Greasy burgers on the grill everyday with tortilla chips that were like eating cardboard. I am not a picky person but this was bad food. Staff at resturant not able to handle busy times with lineups.

We were pleasantly surprised with our last-minute stay. The beach is beautiful and the snorkeling quite good! The bed was super comfortable in the room was very clean. Such a short distance from the room to the ocean! That was awesome, especially for my elderly mom :-) The property could use some cosmetic updates. The food was just mediocre, which was a little bit of a bummer, but it was OK. The bar service and the drinks were exceptional. The staff are super friendly. The best part about this property is the location and if they could just up the food quality a little bit, it would be perfect! Overall, it was a greatly enjoyable day

The restaurants were boring and the food wasn’t very tasty.

We love this property, as it’s smaller, yet has all we need and the best beach in Cozumel. This was our 2nd yr at the resort, stayed 12 nts. Our food choices this yr were cut down by 2 restaurants, so food was nothing to write home about, but just fine. Sadly our bldg was a bit in disrepair, outside missing lights and inside a few broken items. Though we are easy and didn’t sweat the small stuff. Drinks are fabulous, spa was amazing!! Snorkeling right off the beach is amazing, staff is awesome. Love, love Dana with activities!! Taught my husband some Spanish! Purchased an excursion from the concierge and it was great! Can’t wait to come back, though we are hoping they fix some things.

First let me say everyone was very friendly. After a long travel day we just wanted to get to our room but at check in we were told we had to speak with this other person....a sales person that kept on and on about touring and wanted to up sale us to the connecting resorts and would NOT take no for an answer until my husband starting getting ill. When got to the room it wasnt bad, but there was a horrible odor in the bathroom.. no biggie we would deal with it. Very nice view from walkout and was excited to be right next to a beach bar. 😁 only to find out the bar literly straight off of our patio was off limits. It belongs to Dreams. And all their guest were taking the chairs on "our side". The room air conditioner worked good but made a loud baning noise that made it impossible to sleep, even with a pillow over my head. I discussed with the front desk afyer night one and was told they would look into it.....nothing. The fridge was stocked when we got there. 2 cokes, 1 diet coke 4 beers, 2 orange sodas and water. We only drink coke and diet coke asked to switch them out or get more coke/diet coke, that was a no because it's only "stocked" on day 1. Not 1 of the ice machines on the property worked, you had to go to the bar to get ice. Our last day was our 40th wedding anniversary and we just wanted a quiet meal that night so I asked if to get a plate from one of the 2 restaurants to take to the room..answer.. no ma'am. Needless to say this was our 1st and last stay here.
