The space, cleanliness, food

We book 4 chalets, but the lodge decided to book all three apart from each other.

The location.

We were 8 people on a trip, requiring 2 chalets. They put us on opposite ends of the park, splitting the party in half. In the one unit the aircons was not working. In the other unit they closed off the braai. Imagine being in the bush and you cant braai!!?? There were bugs under the sheets and all over the beds. For what they charge, you would expect some level of cleanliness. This was not it.

Kruger Park Lodge in general is a very nice property. The property is very well kept, clean and well looked after. The facilities are great with the hippo hide where you can watch hippos safely as well as an extremely nice golf course on the property with impala walking on the course. The pool area is very nice and the restaurant (G’s) is good. There is also a lapa area where they do a traditional braai (think bbq on steroids) and a river area you can walk to. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. It is a spacious 6 sleeper. The unit itself is great with a few little issues such as the shower door does not close and the double bed in the main upstairs bedroom has a mattress that is not very good. Other than that it is a very nice unit. The air conditioner wasn’t working and when we called them the next day they came out and fixed it almost within the hour. The unit is cleaned every day which is very nice. The lodge is 15 minutes from Phabeni gate into the Kruger Park. Also, even though when you are in the lodge you feel like you are out of the city in the bush, it is 5 minutes away from many good shops and restaurants.

The food at the restaurant

There was 7 of us. They booked two chalets but they were miles from each other. We were all in one car and you can't do anything without a car so it was a major problem to drive from one to another. When I ask them to just keep us in one they said they wouldn't return my money... To me, that was unacceptable!!! To separate a family in a facility like that..... Another thing... that beautiful picture of the restaurant by the river is a specifici spot that only opens on TUESDAYS... so...why even promote it? I wouldn't recommend this place... there are MANY options around...
