Very poor choice of food and expensive. I think they have the dining experience completely wrong. There are numerous choice in Marlow that are far superior and value for money. I think they should review what they offer , surely management check their competitors. I will not be returning

"Our second anniversary stay at Danesfield House! Amazing as always!"

10.0

Our Second Anniversary Stay at Danesfield House! After such an amazing first anniversary stay at Danesfield House, we knew we had to return to celebrate our second anniversary. From the very start, the staff were absolutely fantastic. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely gentleman at reception and informed that we had been upgraded to the exact same suite we had been upgraded to for our first anniversary. This was incredibly kind and thoughtful of the hotel and team, especially as the suite itself is simply wonderful. Upon arriving in the room, we were also greeted with a handwritten note welcoming us back for our second anniversary, along with a lovely selection of chocolates, a really special touch. As mentioned in our previous review, the swimming pool never fails to impress. With its beautiful pool, Grecian murals, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and indoor sunbeds, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Once again, the grounds and views are absolutely stunning. This really is the perfect countryside hotel. Lastly, breakfast is always our favourite part of the stay, offering a wide and delicious selection of food. However, one of the main highlights of our stay was being greeted at breakfast again by the lovely Sharon. Sharon was so accommodating and kind at our first anniversary stay, which made it all the more memorable; she was once again a superstar, making our stay for a second time that extra bit more special. We can't wait to return to Danesfield House again next year! 10/10 all round.

"Relaxing stay"

The hotel is set in a beautiful area with nature around. We enjoyed the spa facilities as well as the festive evening meal. We loved the front room with the Christmas tree.

I could not settle the bill with AMEX.

"Not as it used to be."

6.0

We went here to celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary. We had been there twenty years ago when it was definitely a luxury hotel. Sadly this latest visit wasn’t so impressive. Considering the cost of the rooms per night, are room was sadly lacking. At first glance it looked beautiful, on closer inspection it was very shabby indeed. How this room was being occupied at all is a mystery that we couldn’t get to the bottom of. First thing we encountered was that the lift hadn’t been working for months. We hadn’t been informed of this. We were in the third floor and although we were helped with our bags this was totally unacceptable. When we asked the staff WHY we weren’t made aware of this we were fobbed off saying that it was mentioned on their own website. As we booked through Booking.com we were taken by surprise. The library which was once filled with people having drinks and afternoon tea was empty. Not a surprise really as there was no fire in the beautiful open fireplace. It was lit for a short while on the Sunday morning. When we were leaving . We were offered another room which we took. Having to repack and lug our own luggage down three flights of stairs. The food was good not great. The bar was lovely though the cocktails although expensive were beautifully prepared by a charming barman. The spa is nice. It was great to relax. Would have been nice to have had the option of some staff around to order drinks from. It seems as if the place is now run by someone else and the staffing is at a bare minimum. What a shame that a once very opulent hotel has gone down hill so much. Luxury? Maybe some people’s idea of. But if you’d have experienced it in its heyday you’d have like us been disappointed. Eventually on the Sunday morning as we were leaving we were given £100 off our visit to placate us. I must admit that this was after me talking to at least three people who had agreed that our experience hadn’t been a good one. They really do need to up their standards.

"Nice location and great food"

7.0

Food is excellent - breakfast and dinner The staff are nice and attentive Spa is nice, although a little bit dated

Bed in deluxe room is big, but could clearly tell that there were two mattresses. This made it uncomfortable with the ridge of each. A topper on top would have made it better bathrooms ares old and dated. cold floor and have to mix adjust your hot water and cold to get it right in the shower Swimming pool is cold

"Pleasant and would visit again to different room"

6.0

Friendly porter and restaurant staff.

We reported an issue with an annoying humming in our room and asked for help to identify. Unfortunately had to go to appointment but was advised someone would look, no feedback other than finding a window closed. We identified noise as probably A/C unit pos by pool that turned off about midnight and on at 7am. Unfortunately sleep was disturbed and wouldn't stay again if offered a room in same area(room 233). Female reception staff in the evening appeared disinterested in our concerns
