Danesfield House Hotel And Spa

A combined Mothers day and birthday lunch with our sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Danesfield House meets you as a very impressive country hotel which sits overlooking the Thames river (something we enjoyed after lunch). Lunch was exceptional on every level; the restaurant room, the super helpful staff and most importantly, gorgeous food. A thoroughly relaxing way to enjoy lunch.

Just back from a one night stay in Danesfield House and had an amazing time. We have previously been there for a spa day but this is the first time staying in the hotel. The room was lovely and clean and the hotel is full of character. I like the history of it being a former RAF command centre in the Second World War. The staff were all lovely and very friendly and accommodating. The food is exceptional. We had an amazing meal and drinks and the prosecco we drank was actually very reasonable priced. Also, the breakfast the following morning was just as nice. While there we used the pool and spa facilities on the day we arrived and the following morning. Very nice indeed! We also had a walk around the grounds which are lovely and situated right on the Thames. I highly recommend this hotel, and if you check the packages they do, as we did, then we were given an allowance towards the meal as part of the package. This is a really lovely place to stay and eat.

Set in a stunning location

My room was in need of an update. The colour on a side table was worn away, there wasn’t one bit of woodwork that wasn’t chipped. I’ve never come across pillows that were so flat!

I took my girlfriend here for my 65 birthday .The hotel is in a lovely location set in woodland high above the river Thames. The gardens a fantastic to walk around .They hotel upgraded our room due to my birthday which was very nice of them the room had a veiw of the river and the gardens .I booked the orangery restaurant for the friday night . And this was what made me give a 3 stars review and not a five star review. The potion size were so small on the main course my girlfriend looked at me when the waiter put it down on our table with shock. My fish was no bigger than a match box. The saying big white plate no food summed it up to a tee .I had to order a plate of chips at the end we left the restaurant hungry and ordered more food from the bar menu next door. I then cancelled my reservation for the Saturday night and ate out in Marlow .I loved the hotel and the spa the staff were lovely and could not do enough for you .But fine dining at very high cost and very very small potions on big white plates is dead and so 1980 .
