Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa

We have stayed here a few times now but unfortunately the experience wasn't as good this time although we did enjoy the stay. Lighting could be better at night near the gate onto the front, the music or should I say noise that was being played by the pool was for teenagers at a night club not the average age of people staying of about 60. Also yet again there were plenty of channels on TV for Spanish, French and German only 2 news channels for British. Although the hotel is a very nice one it isn't in my opinion a 5*

I always wonder about going back to a hotel you have been to before but I needn't have worried as it was just as wonderful as our visit 18 months previously. We love it for the A l a Carte Restaurant dining every night if you want on All Inclusive Plus, the free daily replenished Mini Bar with Crisps. The wonderful efficient and really friendly staff. The wonderful daily different and varied Aqua Classes. Entertainment which I have read some criticism about is varied from the very good to a couple of not so good. We really liked Pavarotti and Friends who we saw twice last time and once again this time. The 4 Beats are very good also a girl group called the Glitter /Dream Girls. A lady singer and a Rock Group called Starlight. Bollywood was good to with a modern music twist. Flamenco is not really for us but even that was modern. Also an alternative Casino Night, no money involved and great fun. There is something on every night for an hour and nice to chill to after a lovely meal in a choice of 2 of the 4 A La Carte restaurants. [Put those bathroom scales away in your room after all that wonderful food !!] Special mention to the lovely Nora who ran the pool classes almost every day, helped by Pablo for one of the many days I attended the class. The Barracuda pool was heated all the time we were there this time. Last time at the end of April it was heated the first week but not the second going into May. Restaurant staff Emmanuel and Diego were brilliant and bar staff and also Sandra and Ahmed who wasn't there as much tis time but remembered us from our last visit. Many more staff who speak to you every day you pass them and even the lovely Angelica who cleaned our room most days. Thank you so much everyone for making our visit so special once again.

Previous visit in December 2023 and have to say not quite the same experience. Not sure if this is down to the new Barcelo Hotel attracting their old staff. Location is great and the view from pool out to the sea is fantastic and hard to beat. The hotel is clean but notice the lifts between glass is filthy not sure how they clean these but needs doing. Preferred Club Lounge has gone downhill, needs hand sanitiser available on arrival. Food is dreadful - curled up ham sandwiches and the marble table could do with a good clean lots of glass marks on them. Air Con not working very well. The Rooms are ok a little tired looking but clean and fabulous views. The Manager of the main restaurant wasnt very friendly as they have been in the past and could do with a jacket that was ironed and possibly a tie to look a little smarter and more professional. The staff are few and far between and do their best - tables and drinks cleared before you finish and waiting ages to order a drink. Not the experience we have had in the past. Sea Legs pool is lovely and quiet but beds really hard and uncomfortable. Gate to the pool from main area needs to be looked at as it didnt close easily and non Privileged clients just wander in without paying the extra. I am sorry to leave such a negative review as I love this hotel but for the first time I will think twice before returning.

Stayed for 5 nights at this resort in November. I was very impressed at the facilities and the space. You never felt as if anyone was invading your space. The rooms were fine although a tad dated but very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the turn down service and chocolates every night. We upgraded to privilege and glad we did. Having access to 2 additional pools, one for adults only was a blessing although the sun loungers around this pool are particularly uncomfortable to lay on. Food and drink was very good. The wines were all good quality which is unusual in my experience. The rose was particularly good. Branded drinks was also very welcome. Again, upgrading was nice so we had the additional breakfast area. So the downfalls....... We enjoyed the Italian restaurant but in 5 days, it was only open once. Why? And the real reason why I had to score a 3 was the lack of attentiveness. Sure, you are shown a table at a restaurant quickly and bought tea/coffee in the morning or wine etc. at lunchtime and evenings. But that's it. Not once did anyone ever come and top drinks up. Also, trying to get someone to clear plates seemed to be an issue. It was a real shame. It was as if once you were sat down with a drink, that was it! There work was done. This is a 5 star resort and drinks should be topped up. So would I go back? Yes! But work needs to be done on service.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel was incredible, everywhere was always clean and the staff were so attentive. The preferred club breakfast had so much choice, the egg station was our favourite and the servers were so kind. It was my birthday whilst we were there and they treated us to champagne and a cake which was a really lovely treat. It was an amazing hotel with lovely staff and we would 100% return, already thinking about it again for my birthday next year!

Excellent service and facilities. Food was good and services and poolside were excellent. Very respnsive staff in reception and maintenance Only issue was an unannounced charge to use empty sun loungers in preferred guest area. Ridiculous charge of 40 euro per lounger per day as communicated by staff member. She made us feel very unwelcome and told us to pay or move even though our preferred guest cards gave us access to the area. A sour note in another wise perfect stay. My partner lost a chain and reception were so helpful in returning it. I would highly recommend the hotel but definitely not the sun lounger experience.

Our first trip to Lanzarote was amazing. We had a great last minute deal which was very affordable compared to the ‘real’ price. The hotel is fantastic - definitely top end. The staff are lovely, everywhere is so clean. We booked bed and breakfast but took advantage of the half board option when we arrived. Our booking was for Preferred Club which was almost as good as All Inclusive without the alcohol. We particularly enjoyed the Sea legs infinity pool which was restricted to preferred club guests. The food was good in the buffet but a little repetitive. We ate at the Portofino restaurant one evening which was a delight. The location was perfect. Playa Dorada beach is a short stroll away towards Playa Blanca, and the Rubicon Marina is also close by in the opposite direction. The whole area is very well maintained and feels really safe. We’d love to come back to Dreams. It was a perfect winter break.

Firstly, there were extensive renovations taking place throughout the hotel which we were not informed of prior to arrival. The spa was closed, there were ongoing works in the lobby, and noise was constant around the children’s pool area. The hotel’s own website advertises a sports bar, which remained closed for the duration of our stay. We have visited Playa Blanca many times and stayed in several four-star hotels, and were looking forward to a more luxurious experience. Instead, upon arrival we were so concerned that we visited three nearby hotels in an attempt to relocate, but none had availability. On arrival, towels were scattered across the lobby stairs and entrance ways due to a leaking roof and earlier rainfall. These remained in place all day until we reported the issue to reception. In the female toilets, there was no toilet paper in any of the cubicles. The children’s pool area was also unclean, with yoghurt pots and bottles remaining in the same place for two consecutive days. These were only removed after we raised the issue with Guest Experience, whose initial response was that the area was cleaned daily—something that was clearly not the case. We also had €14 taken from our room. Although the amount was small, the principle was extremely concerning. When we raised this with Guest Experience, we were told, “So you don’t want anyone else in your room then?” We were simply expecting our belongings to be secure. We later received an apology from housekeeping, who stated the money had been mistaken for a tip. Unfortunately, many staff members did not appear welcoming. We often felt like an inconvenience in the restaurants, and service was lacking. The food provided was very average and not of the standard advertised. The hotel is marketed as luxurious, yet it is clearly very dated and poorly maintained. We observed cracked and damaged tiles throughout the corridors, lobby, and pool areas, along with tiles missing completely in some parts. The lifts are extremely small and impractical. A double buggy could not fit, meaning we had to make several trips each time, which was very challenging as a family of six with young children and mobility issues. Throughout our stay, we raised our concerns multiple times with Guest Experience, reception, and management. Although our concerns were acknowledged, no meaningful action was taken to resolve them, and on several occasions the responses were dismissive.

Pool lovely and warm Privileged areas good, quiet and rooms in good location, ask for a mattress topper. Sunbeds average need to be padded you can hire a double sunbed but at €45 a day!! Food at buffet very average, variety day to day doesn't change and not particularly warm. Spa is CLOSED also Aircon whilst good can be noisy
