"First time in Dreams Lanzarote"

10.0

This was our first time at Dreams Lanzarote and we would definitely return without hesitation. Although the weather was a bit rainy during our stay, we believe it adds to the charm of the island and makes it even more special. Our favorite restaurant was, without any doubt, Bluewater, where we enjoyed an excellent dining experience. We also had the pleasure of meeting a lovely Ecuadorian lady named Kelly. We truly appreciated the opportunity to speak with her, as she has extensive knowledge about South America. Thanks to her, we feel even more inspired, as our next trip will be to explore Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and finally Mexico. We would also like to mention the hotel’s adorable cat, which kept us company at times and added a very special touch to our stay. Without a doubt, this is a very welcoming hotel. We truly loved our stay.

"Our First Visit, Absolutely Loved It!"

10.0

It’s our first time visiting Dreams and we would definitely come back again. On behalf of our whole family, we want to thank everyone who made our stay wonderful, especially Kelly and Ainara from Guest Experience, who were always so kind and attentive. Small touches, like the notes in our room and the calls to check if everything was okay, made the experience even more memorable. The staff truly stands out, and our stay has been excellent. It’s a shame we have to leave.

"March 2026"

10.0

Back home now, and I have to say we had a wonderful vacation. Although the last few days were rainy, the hotel always provided great alternatives for days like that. The staff were consistently friendly and willing to help. Kelly from Guest Services was especially lovely and always made sure we were doing well throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable, and the team overall was very attentive. We look forward to seeing you again at the end of 2026.

"Lovely hotel, let down by the food."

8.0

Honest pros and cons Pros Great welcome, all staff I came across all holiday were friendly and efficient. Everywhere well maintained (no tatty scuff marks etc) Room lovely, big and comfortable. Pools nice and appear well maintained. Plenty of sunbeds - some free all day but suspect it might be an issue in school hols. Kids pool with slides much quieter than main pool with no queue at bar Free wi-fi everywhere Speciality restaurants free for AI and decent waiter service, nice change from the main self service buffet. Cons Food typical all inclusive, bland and sometimes cold - no microwave anywhere. Fab salad bar, soups, bread fruit etc Single toaster at breakfast-absolutely rubbish-took 3 passes before bread even slightly brown. Queues most of the day at main pool bar (poor staff rushed off their feet) Indoor bars all closed during day. Often queues for bar on evening with little organisation. Not enough seats in main lounge, fills up quickly after dinner. Speciality dining restaurants similar food to buffet ie bland, but service good. Drinks service in buffet on lunch and evening is hit and miss. Had to hunt for a waitress a few times to get a drink or go without. All in all lovely hotel and great staff, would come again but probably give the food a miss (or bring some nice spicy sauces with me)

"Great hotel and highly recommended"

10.0

This was a last minute booking for us as our holiday to Dubai was cancelled due to the war. As we had to decide on an alternate very quickly we simply though, need a place warm and not long haul. Sort of narrowed it down to Canaries and since last year at this time we went to the Barcelo in Playa Blanca we simply decide to go there. Unfortunately it was fully booked but did see the hotel next door, the Dreams hotel. Looked nice and good reviews so we booked it. And very pleased we did! We said that the Barcelo next door had the best All Inclusive buffet we have used. This was as good if not slightly better. Plates we hot as was the food. Quality of the food and drink was very good with named brands used. We were not using the 'Preferred' upgrade option either. We saw a YT video of a chap saying he thought the food and drink was so good he didn't think it was worth upgrading. I totally agree. Another nice touch was there was no wristbands. We just had to touch our room key on a device before entering the restaurant or ordering a drink. Service wherever you ate and drank was very good. Staff were courteous and friendly. The pool area was nice and spacious. Music by the pool was relaxed and at a sensible volume. Totally unlike our last holiday in Sharm which was loud rap music mostly with frequent swearing. Not good for a family hotel. lots of sunbeds and brollies. The hotel was very busy but at no time did we have to fight for space and beds. Rooms were clean and tidy and absolutely fine. The hotel location was very good and an easy walk to the Rubicon marina or Playa Blanca central. The entertainment was generally very good. As for negative things? Not much. To enter the buffet you touched your keycard as mentioned earlier. Then you waited for a member of staff to take you into the restaurant where they simply asked where you wanted to sit. We would point out a table and they simply said fine and went back to escort the next next couple/family. This is fine but when things got busy a long queue could form. I am not sure why they do it this way. Surely they can trust someone to simply go in and sit at a table without being escorted? Another odd thing is that there is a giant TV screen where the bar and entertainment take place. This on an early evening prior to the live entertainment. This is usually a live concert. Great idea but there is no sound. The sound is background music not actually related to the concert at all. Surely it would have made sense to have picture and the sound together? Anyway, all in all I would highly recommend.

"Location, location, location"

10.0

We were lucky to have the only sunny week in March 2026 at this great hotel. After reading the recent reviews we were a little worried that we had made a bad choice. However, we had a lovely holiday and have booked to return to Dreams in December. We feel that the 5 star rating is optimistic and we would personally give it 4 stars. The Good Bits:- The location is excellent, right on the sea front next to Playa Dorada beach and only a 5 minute walk to the Marina. Views across the ocean to Fuertaventura are spectacular. Modern, clean and stylish reception areas. Friendly and helpful staff. A special mention for Ariadna and Luna on reception who were particularly helpful. We were welcomed with a cold drink and cold towels to freshen up after our journey. Restaurants - World Cafe, the main buffet restaurant - food of good quality and a wonderful selection, with a different theme each night. Food not always hot enough but there is a microwave. We didn’t use the a la carte options so can’t comment. We stayed on the Preferred Club basis which gives access to a small lounge with daytime snacks and non alcoholic drinks. We enjoyed this facility very much. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. The swimming pools are all heated to a very pleasant temperature, they are large and spotlessly clean. Preferred club pool towels are large, thick and fluffy. There is plenty of space around the pools for the sun beds. Most of the sun beds are in good condition (some could do with replacing though). There are two sun terraces/pool areas reserved for Preferred club clients, one being adults only, as well as the main pool terrace. Bedrooms are fairly basic with comfortable beds, quality pillows and a large TV. Nicely refurbished shower room with a separate toilet. Plenty of hot water and a rain shower, and good storage facilities in the bathroom. There are even scales to make sure you don’t put on too much weight! Towels are large, soft and fluffy. The hairdryer is a good quality, powerful plug-in type. The minibar is stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks which is included on Preferred Club. There is a coffee maker as well as a kettle. Balcony is large with table and padded chairs. Rooms seem to be well soundproofed as we had no issue with noise from our neighbours or upstairs. No noise from the corridors. It was cold when we arrived so we were brought an electric radiator to heat the room and an extra quilt for the bed. A mattress topper is available too if required. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. The Not So Good Bits:- The main pool bar plays music for most of the day which can be heard in all corners of the main pool terrace, as well as from all the rooms overlooking the main pool. It is the type of modern music which has a deep repetitive beat which we found very irritating. It is basically too loud and is turned up to unnecessary volumes when the entertainment team is doing a workout. We felt this was disproportionate for the handful of people who were taking part in the activities, compared with the couple of hundred who were trying to relax. Preferred Club guests can escape the noise by using one of the separate pool areas, although the Sealegs infinity pool area gets full very quickly and we found that people who had not paid the extra cost of Preferred Club were accessing the adults only pool area and taking the best sun beds. Nothing was being done to discourage them from accessing this area. The gate to the Sealegs pool didn’t lock so anyone could go in. Also the lock on the exit gate by the promenade is worn out and is rarely closed, so anyone can wander through from the walkway without a keycard most of the time. This is a serious lapse in security. Some of the sun beds have seen better days and do not reflect a 5 star experience. There are no changing rooms at the poolside. The toilet facilities around the hotel probably date back to the 1980s when the hotel was built and do not reflect expectations of a luxury hotel. The hotel is described as luxury which is an exaggeration. The main buffet restaurant is a little canteen-like which could be improved by breaking up the area with screens. Because it is a large empty area it is quite noisy. The tables are not laid with tablecloths which doesn’t give a quality feel. The evening shows don’t start until 9.30 which is much too late for us, so we didn’t see any of them and can’t comment on their quality. We had a few queries with reception which could have been easily explained if we had initially been advised to download the hotel app which has all the hotel programmes and information. This was maybe just an oversight by the male receptionist. In conclusion, we can thoroughly recommend this hotel, but just don’t expect 5 star luxury. The only downside for us was the loud music almost everywhere.

"Feb & March Stays Half Board"

8.0

I stayed here on half board basis in a preferred club Ocean view room for a week in February with my mum and a 5 night stay with my husband in March. Mum and I booked separate rooms but requested that they be beside each other which was noted and accommodated by the hotel. Although this was much appreciated, we were a bit underwhelmed with the 'ocean view ' which was more car park/wasteland and some marina and preferred pool with a bit of a side sea view! My mum is 76 and I didn't want to put her through the hassle of trying to get out rooms changed so we stayed put for the week. I did email and say to reception staff that the view wasn't what we were expecting given the increased price and asked for a better view for when I returned 2 weeks later with my husband. This was accommodated and we were delighted with the improvement on the ocean view - room 1217 which is looking out over the right hand side of the promenade and beach area. Mum and I were 2239 and 2240 looking over the left side. Choice wise, it depends on what you enjoy but I personally prefer seeing beach life and not particularly boats! Please also note that Playa Blanca has an annual festival around the second week of March and goes on for about 4 days. Friday night was like trying to sleep in the middle of the big stage at Glastonbury and it went on until after 4am. The noise was excessive and room 1217 on the right side of the hotel was getting the full blast of it as it's held in front of the Princess Yaiza hotel next door. I rang reception at 2am asking what time it was finishing and was told around 3am!!! The fireworks started around 4am!!! It would have been useful to have been warned about this by Jet2 and also the hotel in advance because at least you can buy ear plugs and get to bed earlier or have the option of booking at a different time of year. Cleanliness of rooms and hotel was excellent. Rooms are kitted out really well with toiletries, toothbrush, comb, razor, slippers and robes etc. Tea and coffee facilities and mini bar was re-stocked every day. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily. Food - a bit of a mixed experience, buffet can be good and not so good on certain days. We went to the Portofino Italian and it was pretty good standard with generous portions. Can't comment on the other restaurants as didn't go all inclusive. Hubby and I ate out at the marina one evening at Le Petit Jardin as a treat. There's plenty of choice within a 15min or less walking distance so if I went again I'd book bed and breakfast but still book a preferred room as the lounge was well stocked with snacks and sandwiches plus non-alcoholic drinks/tea/coffee etc. Note: no alcohol is included in lounge area, only beers in the mini fridge of preferred rooms. We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana in Dominican Republic and the lounges there did have alcohol. This needs to be made more clear in the hotel description for this place and also by the tour companies ads. Bar service was slow at times only because there weren't enough staff. The staff worked very hard throughout the hotel areas, just felt like there were queues for drinks and sometimes food that could be avoided with better staffing levels. The spa was fantastic! One of the cleanest and most modern spa spaces I've been to recently in hotels abroad. It's all indoor but feels very bright and spacious, even when busy. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Gym was decent for hotel abroad, enough equipment for me but hubby wanted weights racks which were lacking. Pools and grounds were lovely, well kept and clean. Pool towels were readily available using the tokens given at the start of each holiday. There is a station for them at each pool. Preferred pools have dark brown and normal pool is a beige colour. The attendant sometimes asked for room numbers if they spotted anyone with a beige towel in the preferred pool areas. This should probably be made more clear at point of check in as the lady who checked us in said that pool towels were only available at the main pool even though I did ask if they were available at preferred pools - she told me no which turns out was wrong information. I did feed this back to the hotel. On check in it doesn't seem to matter if you have a preferred booking or not, all reception staff service everybody, even though there's supposed to be a separate area for preferred guests - bit pointless unless extra staff are manning the different areas. The price we were quoted to upgrade from half board to all inclusive was an extra 84 euro per person per night. It wouldn't have been worth the extra expense for us because we don't eat and drink enough to justify that price. Overall the hotel is of a very good standard, areas for improvement would be the food offering and the cocktail drinks (some were definitely watered down! Pina Colada at the sea legs pool!) - personally don't think the all inclusive would be worth the cost and especially with so much choice in Playa Blanca. We would return but at a different time of year and bed and breakfast only. Special thanks to Ariadna on reception for being so lovely and friendly!

"Awful experience"

2.0

I must say that my experience at the hotel was extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, nothing lived up to expectations. Several of the waiters were rude and unprofessional, the pools were cold and not inviting at all, the evening shows were terrible, and the music was played at extremely high decibels, which was very uncomfortable. The food was, without a doubt, the worst we had during our vacation. At reception, a blonde staff member seemed to struggle when handling situations and providing clear answers, which only added to the frustration. We tried not to generate discussions, but at some point we were simply wishing for our vacation to end. When we spoke with César from Guest Experience, the only thing he offered were “compensations,”, as if that could make up for all the issues we experienced during our stay. The only good thing that stood out was some of the staff: Juan Luis from the bar, who is very kind, spoke with Rocio and I must say she tried to do what she could to solve things. Also Kelly, a very kind and cordial, Carlos, a very polite and gentlemanly, Lucia a decent waitress, and Angely, who was always friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, apart from these few people, the rest of the service leaves a lot to be desired. The organization of the hotel is poor, the atmosphere is not pleasant, and many things seem neglected or badly managed. In short, our vacation turned out to be a big disappointment and we would not return to this hotel nor recommend it.

Very average not worth the money!!! For the cost of the preferred club rooms. All inclusive food not good. Designed more for an older crowd.

"Disappointing"

6.0

Third time at this hotel & despite some positives we won't be returning. Staff as always very nice but the standards have dropped overall - "preferred club" is not as good as it used to be - breakfast reheated like a works canteen & not the best quality - didn't help they put us in probably the noisiest room in the hotel - it happens but preferred really? Walls wafer thin with a nice view of some dirt & a wall - must have been next to the clearing house for the cleaning team & its trolleys - no need for a wake up call - not a patch on the Volcan c'est la vie 🤷‍♂️
