Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort

This was our 26th year staying at the Renaissance Resort. We usually stay at the Marina Hotel, but this year we chose the Ocean Suites Hotel, its sister property. The staff at both hotels are incredibly accommodating and always make my wife and me feel like family. I have Type 2 diabetes, so I carefully manage my diet and exercise routine to maintain healthy glucose levels. I was thrilled to learn that the resort hired Anouk Balentina, who leads water aerobics classes twice a week. Her program has helped me tremendously and contributed to bringing my glucose levels back to normal. Her classes are energetic, fun, and set to music, making exercise something everyone looks forward to. Anouk conducts water aerobics at both hotels and on Renaissance Island. She also hosts a weekly art class where guests receive a 12-by-12 canvas, paints, and brushes, along with red and white wine to enjoy while creating their own artwork. It's a wonderful experience that allows guests to relax, socialize, and express their creativity. In addition, Anouk dresses as a mermaid each week on the private island, delighting both children and adults. Guests love interacting with her, and the photo opportunities are always a huge hit. Bravo to the Renaissance for hiring such a talented, dedicated, and genuinely kind person. Anouk's enthusiasm and creativity have made a lasting impact on our vacation experience.

We truly enjoyed our recent stay at the Renaissance Wind Creek Resort! We traveled as a family of 5 — 2 adults 3 kids ages (4, 9 and 11) and stayed in a Presidential Suite on the kid-friendly Ocean Resort side. Huge shout out to Chris at Fresco’s who was as kind and helpful as could be on our first night and set the tone for the trip. Also a huge thank you to Abbey at Papagayo Bar and Grill out on Renaissance Island. She was especially kind to our kids and our dining experiences with her were a real treat. It was lovely to connect with her - she made excellent dining recommendations and an excellent temporary bed for our tired 4 year old! Finally we have to mention Anouk, who unfortunately we didn’t meet until our last full day, but she was on Renaissance Island creating sand art (Susan the Sea Turtle! lol) and was so so wonderful with our kids, playing in the sand with them and then taking them out to interact with the flamingos. She provided us with so many beautiful photos as well. We feel fortunate to have had such a beautiful and memorable trip. The water in the coves at the hotel and Renaissance Island were calm and safe for littles. The pools were fun as well with a basketball hoop, small water slide and clean. Our kids love animals, so the iguanas, flamingos and birds were all a real bonus for them! The only down side of our stay was that our suit (the master bedroom specifically) was situated directly above the laundry room or other utility room and there were noises and rattling all through the night. Luckily the sounds didn’t impact the sleeping kids but for the price, it would have been nice for the adults to sleep well too. Because of this I had to dock a star. But if I could I’d make it 4.5 because of their employees.

They messed up our booking. Said we only had one room. Our second room wasn’t ready until 430. The air conditioning was broke, told them multiple times they never fixed it properly. The up trying. Had to ask multiple times for the room to be turned down the first night. Very frustrating.

Wind Creek was absolutely amazing. The food, the drinks, the hospitality. Everyone was so helpful from the moment we got there. Cesar Bellman was great, he gave us delicious recommendations for places to eat in the neighborhood when we wanted to explore! Margareth at Flamingo Beach on Renaissance Island is a gem! So excited to go back again! Aruba is now our home away from home! #renaruba

Property was very nice and clean. My husband was able to enjoy his favorite sports team while being away from home.

The way that the resort is designed. Most rooms do not get sunlight. It’s dark and grey. Private island was nice. The adult side was way to quiet. No real vibes or music. Drinks is weak not worth the price.

Aruba, as a destination, was an incredible experience, made even better by our stay at the Renaissance Wind Creek. One of the absolute best experiences of the trip was the private Renaissance Island, which we opted to do multiple days of our stay, rather than taking tours and exploring the island (which we did, and very much enjoyed). The private island features a kid-friendly side and an adults-only (not like that) side, complete with beaches, coves, lounging huts, breakfast and lunch spots, drink service, flamingos - it’s beautiful. Worth special mention was an Aquatic Zumba instructor, named Anouk, a beam of sunshine who appeared on the island (and other spots around the Renaissance properties) and gave aquatic Zumba (obviously) classes. She was a ton of fun, was very welcoming and kind, and the bout of exercise thrown in amongst the relaxation made those drinks feel a little less indulgent. When we look back on this trip, we will fondly remember Anouk. To be fair, we only stayed at this one hotel, so it’s not like we can judge it against the others on the island, but I would be hard pressed to imagine one that offers a better experience. One of the best vacations of my life.
