Flagstaff Gardens Hotel Melbourne

I only like the location and a few staff members.

Upon my arrival, I was presented with the option to settle the bill directly, however, the quoted price was AU$ 7 higher than what was advertised on the Booking website. The room itself is in need of renovation. I had reserved a queen-sized bed, but was provided with two single beds pushed together, which created an uncomfortable gap in the center. The bathroom amenities were limited to conditioner, shampoo, body soap, hand soap, and a bar of soap. Notably, no complimentary bottled water was provided. Furthermore, one of the face towels I received was torn at the edges. The manager demonstrated an inability to effectively manage critical situations, exhibiting a lack of attentiveness, acknowledgment, and general concern. On a Monday morning, around 7 AM, we were disturbed by the sounds of hammering and tools. We reported this issue, and the receptionist assured us that the contractors were not authorized to commence work at such an early hour and that they would investigate and provide an update. No follow-up was received. We subsequently contacted the front desk again and requested to speak with the manager, who responded with an unhelpful and untruthful assertion that they had investigated and could not identify the source of the noise. Upon speaking with other hotel staff, we were informed that there was indeed ongoing construction work on an upper floor.

Flagstaff Gardens Hotel is an oasis for elderly visitors. The staff, especially Imogene was incredible in terms of solving their problems, being patient with them, explaining thing in a non-offensive way. She was very understanding towards the elderly guests. Everybody working in the reception were polite and sincere, and did their best to help this vulnarable and fragile group of guests. I was really impressed. (They were lovely to me as well.)

There was a coupon in thee room that said that I would be given a voucher for the days I don't use the room cleaning. I was not sure how it would work, I did not use the service until the last day. Maybe the instructions could be clearer.

Location, breakfast and quietness.

The advertisement misled that they have parking. It actually needs to park to nearby pay parking. I booked to have twin beds and the receptionist gave us a kind bed, then it took 3 hours to change to a twin beds room. The receptionists seemed that they didn't have good experiences to handle issues and didn't fill in water when the free water jugs were empty.

Location was perfect for us. Train and trams. Close Vic Markets and the various venues we had prebooked all well within walking or tramming range.

Loved everything the breakfast, staff and lobby.
