Novotel York Centre

This modern hotel was clean and tidy and it was evidently well managed. It was an easy stroll into the centre of York and all that York has to offer, which is a lot. The weather was a bit cold and damp with frequent showers but the hotel kept the temperature at a comfortable level. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Our bedroom was classified as superior, it was a good size and had al the amenities you would expect. There was alarge bar area and the restaurant and breakfast area which overlooked the terrace and river was in an adjoining area to the side. The breakfast served from 6am to 10.30am was for us a little disappointing. There was a variety of breakfasts available. We opted for a full English breakfast from a serve yourself bar and was disappointed to find it was rather cold. At an extra cost.The hotel had it's own dedicated car park for guests, which is great as parking in York can be a nightmare. To sum up we had a pleasant overnight stay and would stay again.

What was supposed to be the hot breakfast food, wasn't. It could have been kept at a warmer temperature.

Great location that was close to the city centre, staff were extremely helpful and the room was comfortable.

Parking was as additional £18 that I was not aware of.

Nice room setup

They simply would not service my room between 10am and 4pm. Consistently would try serving the room after 4. Even though I told them I was working from the room from 4-8pm.

Always great here

We got to the hotel and were told that the swimming pool was based on 30 minute allocated slots and we needed to book. That had not been communicated before. The food was really disappointing - burger was tough and my mum got the fish and chips which she brought up in the early hours When we left we had not been given the code to exit the car park so I had to run out whilst at the barrier and back into the hotel to get it with a queue of people behind. All in all a very disappointing stay
