Friendly staff, located nearby U-Bahn and plenty of restaurants and cafe around.

Location was excellent. we had a room with a balcony for a smoker like one of us this was really great. Very nice and helpful people at the front desk.

The hotel is reasonably priced and centrally located. Just be mindful that there are no 'comforts' ie kettle, tea, coffee etc. There is water in the room but I hadn't noticed that it's comes at a cost of 4 euros. The room was very hot and stuffy. I managed to get a fan from reception but I had to keep it all 24/7. One particular member of staff was extremely helpful. You can easily get the underground or walk into the centre with about 15 mins.

We were visiting Dusseldorf for a family holiday. Hotel was very close to centre. It was very clean and breakfast was good value. Lobby is a nice size and bar is very comfortable. Rooms are compact. It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Staff were very nice and helpful.

I have stayed many times at Hotel Excelsior, before it became Novum Excelsior. Somethings have changed..The mini bars have been taken out of the rooms, I like to have cold juices etc, available in my room. The breakfast buffet was and is still very good if the new owners don't change anything! The room was incredibly small.

Easy access, decent location, a bit outdated - it's an old establishment reasonably well maintained

visiting friends in dusseldorf as part of a driving tour of germany. staff very helpful in designing a walking tour for me during the day only complaint was room was a little bit warm

Can only say the Hotel has been refurbished to excellent standard and Staff were excellent in every respect. All reception Staff were faultless.

My room was spacious and well furnished, with double glazing blocking all the noise from a busy road outside. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was also roomy, with a non-slip shower/bath base. For breakfast the range of food offered was more than adequate, both hot and cold, and accompanied by ample supplies of coffee.The dining room itself was a joy to behold, with its light brown tables and chairs and pristine tablecloths. Each and every member of staff was helpful and cheerful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Very convenient location, nice staff and great breakfast. But the room fixed line has problem always I need to come downstairs to talk to the reception.
