The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa

A friend and I typically come down to the Equinox sometime in the winter to relax. We love the Spa-pool-hot tub-steam room. The Restaurants are also great. Plus we love the rooms-bed-showers. Thank you for being in Vermont. We loved that there was something written regarding the history of the hotel. But I believe there was something important regarding the Underground Railroad that wasn't in there...?

Booked our room online on the Hotel website which was very easy. Check in was good and gave you a map to park and closest doorway to your room. Our room on the 4th Floor was clean. The floor was uneven but should be expected as a old Inn. The fireplaces had wood burning and a nice game room. Staff was super friendly. Would recommend staying here from a experienced traveler.

Location is great. Can walk to the Town of Manchester which is a great place to stay and visit. The hotel and the rooms are very dated, clean but dated. The owners need to put some money into remodeling the lobby areas and the rooms.

The list of issues is long. 1) someone left their dog unattended in their room, dog was barking madly. We had to change our rooms. Ok, so they adjusted the room price. 2) old yellow toilet seat in room - yuck! 3) new room had no heat, only a space heater, it worked one night and then they needed to replace it because our room was cold! 4) three inches of water in the shower - was fixed for the next day, but I shouldn’t have to ask. 5) very slow service in Marsh Tavern. 35 minutes to get breakfast served? Just because you apologize when you serve me my drink doesn’t excuse the 10 minute wait - or that I had to ask for it again. 6) if you have a gift shop, perhaps you should open it for an hour or so each day? 7) hotel was overrun with dogs. 8) I remember the days not so long ago when there was a doorman who greeted you and helped with luggage - now it’s all DIY. 9) a 10 inch gash in the window curtain ? 10) generally in need of deferred upkeep. Someone needs to buy the EH, invest a bunch of money and bring back its shine. I’m for the Taconic Hotel next time!

I don't think we will be coming back. I already wrote to you about the ice-cold reception we received, no doormen, the receptionist was rude and never even asked us if we needed help with our bags. The general feeling during our stay was that we were left unattended. Light bulbs in the recessed lights were either burned out or flashing and needed to be changed, remotes didn't work due to dead batteries, broken telephone hand receivers (I asked to have these items fixed, but no one ever came). Safety issues abound, unlit exterior stairs at the Orvis House, skylights coming apart on my brother-in-law, and stories of extremely rude servers in the Marsh Tavern. I asked to have the fireplace lit in the Orvis house, it caused a massive gas leak, so no fireplace. Not all were terrible; it's clear some of your staff are trying hard to make up for others who were plain awful. I also could not believe the condition of the carpeting throughout the hotel. I noticed in some spots it was worn down to the subfloor! We have been coming to the Equinox since it was owned by Rock Resorts and it breaks my heart to see what has happened. I hope it can be turned around.

Pool and exercise facilities were great.

The bed was too soft and low and lumpy. Heat in room was poor.....took all night for it to warm up to 68 deg

We had a wonderful quick weekend at the Equinox Resort. The room was spacious and clean, the staff was friendly, the common areas were comfortable and the town was lovely.

It was in a prime spot in Manchester, beautiful location.

Room was never cleaned and had to wait in reception at 8.30pm for it to be cleaned. When we checked out We were told someone would call us as we had complained and never received a call!

Love the feel of the property. Quaint.

Super cold in common area /library. Need to fix doors to outside in that area. Bathroom could use update. Phone in room didn’t work to call front desk.
