Bland room. Lack of comfortable seats in the room. Huge bedroom but tiny bathroom with no bath

You know what you are getting at IHG hotels. May not be boutique but they are always good and reliable. Crown Plaza Plymouth is no exception. Smart professional multi-lingual reception staff; a quiet, clean room with a massive bed. Standard hotel buffet continental and cooked breakfast. Coffee and tea on tap. Nothing special but all good. Hotel bar prices are expected but the friendly bar person made me forget that!

Hotel bar prices (but to be expected)

Large room, convenient location. A lady by the bar area was very helpful when I needed to charge my phone on the second day.

No attention to detail, pins on plug of iron were bent, phone to reception did not work resulting in 45 minutes late to a birthday event as several trips from the 7th floor required to resolve. Shower gel not replenished and sink blocked neither resolved. Queue for breakfast and breakfast options poor due to lack of replacements in 40 mins no cups for coffee no pastries, 2 items on hot breakfast plate. Also maybe suggest guests wear more than their pyjamas for breakfast.

I liked the location it was central to all the tourist attractions.

We were told at reception that breakfast was served until 10am. We arrived at breakfast at 9.30am only to be told they stop serving at 9.30am and that we’d have to make do with what was left at the buffet. The staff weren’t prepared to cook anything fresh. There were a few other customers who were told the same as well. Not great customer service as we’d pre-paid for the breakfast and had to make dos with food which had been standing for some time, plus not much choice left. The staff weren’t very helpful and quite nonchalant.
