"Hotel Hid Festival Noise – Impossible to Sleep"

2.0

We stayed at H10 Imperial Tarraco from September 21–23, 2025, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing due to the Santa Tecla festival and the hotel’s lack of transparency. On our first night, there was music blasting until 5:00 am. It wasn’t just background noise. It was so loud that it felt like we were physically at the concert. Our room (102) is not soundproof in the slightest. I did not sleep at all, which left me completely exhausted and ruined our plans to explore Tarragona the following day. What should have been a relaxing holiday turned into a stressful and sleepless experience. When we complained at reception, the staff said they didn’t warn us earlier because the official festival program wasn’t published yet. But this explanation does not hold up. The Santa Tecla festival always takes place in mid-to-late September, for example: • 2021: Sep 13–23 • 2022: Sep 15–25 • 2023: Sep 15–24 • 2024: Sep 13–24 • 2025: Sep 12–24 The pattern is obvious, and the hotel could have easily informed guests at the time of booking (we booked in August). Instead, they only sent a vague email a few days before our stay mentioning that “events” might take place nearby. That is misleading at best. The reality is that this hotel sits right at the center of the festival action, making it nearly impossible to rest during these dates. The most frustrating part is the lack of transparency. Hotels know their location, their surroundings, and the annual events that impact their guests. Choosing not to disclose this upfront feels like a deliberate attempt to avoid cancellations, even though it comes at the expense of guest comfort. Between the extreme noise, the lack of soundproofing in the rooms, and the hotel’s dismissive attitude toward guest concerns, I cannot recommend staying here. If you value rest and honesty from a hotel, this is not the place to find it.

"Hope that you don’t feel like sleeping…"

2.0

Staying now, night 4 out of four where the deafening music from the Santa Tecla festival doesn’t abate until 4am. Hotel claims that the positioning right outside of the hotel is due to a “city decision”. Convenient for them, just don’t expect to actually sleep without earplugs, noise cancelling headphones and white noise combined. Zero compensation or explanation. Guess that they actively hate tourists and their money and would rather that they not come to Spain at all. It’s a shame because so many people here are so lovely. Be warned, perhaps this hotel is decent (if dated and mouldy smelly from the high humidity) if not during this insane festival.

"Excellent Hotel"

10.0

This hotel has spectacular views. We had a suite on the 6th floor and the room was lovely. Great bed and pillows. Well furnished. The downstairs pool area is very good - however the piped music is awful. Breakfast has a wide range of foods and they even had skimmed milk. We are at the roof bar. Slow but very friendly service. The roof pool gets crowded but the ground floor pool is always quiet and the pool was wonderful. The shower in the room was temperamental but we managed. The staff were all brilliant. A broad range of fellow guests; Americans, French, Germans. All in all, an excellent hotel.

Very good stay, spacious room and bathroom, incredible view over the Tarragona amphitheatre and beach, comfortable bed. And great service, special mention for Andrea who very efficiently transformed our twin beds into a double one.

"Phenomenal Hotel with two pools and roof top bar"

10.0

This is a fantastic hotel! A magnificent balcony with a lovely room. The balcony had a view over the Roman Ruins Amphitheatre and looking out to the Sea beyond. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The two pools, one on the roof, and one on main floor were both exceptional, as well as the roof top bar.

"Loved our stay and will definitely return"

10.0

Back from a lovely stay at H10 Imperial Taracco. The hotel is about a 15 minute taxi trip from Reus Airport- €35- €40. Plenty taxis available at airport. Great location overlooking the beach and amphitheatre. Short walk to old town and cathedral. Hotel is bright and spacious with lovely decor. Lots of seating areas with comfortable furniture. All the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and helpful from the staff at reception, Circus Bar, rooftop bar, Blue Truck bar at pool ( had closed up for our second week- end of season) and staff at breakfast. Reception gave us some great restaurant suggestions and were happy to make the reservations if necessary. We had a deluxe mar room which was spacious with lovely balcony views. Room had comfortable bed, nespresso machine, water in room, mini bar, plenty storage space (iron and ironing board if needed). Good lighting. Bathroom had nice rainfall shower but not very powerful. Also hand held part with good water pressure. Wall dispensers of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, hand wash. Good hairdryer. Room cleaned every day. Breakfast is excellent. Lovely spacious breakfast room- some seats outside. Hot food included fried/scrambled eggs, bacon, pork, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, vegetables, spanish omelette, mini toasted sandwiches. Choice of fruit juices, water, variety of breads. Fresh fruit included honeydew/water melon, pineapple, bananas, apples, mandarin oranges, plums etc. Variety of cheese, cold meats, hard boiled eggs, and salad items. There was one large table with lots of cakes, pastries, cereals, nuts etc. Always a different "cake of the day". Tea/ coffee machines were spaced out around the room so no queues. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby- separate reviews done. A few we liked were La Morada, Casa Balcells, Barhaus, AQ, Braseria la Catedral, El Posit Del Serrallo, Merceria 34, and Arcs. Aboccarpeta was nice for a pizza. The cathedral, amphitheatre, roman circus, city walls, old town are all just a short walk away. The little trolley bus starts outside hotel. It takes about 40 minutes and gives a good overview. Ground floor pool area is nice- towels provided. Plenty sun loungers. The Blue Truck was handy to get a beer or wine. We did not use the roof top pool but the roof top bar has lovely views and was nice for a drink. You can see the beach across the road from hotel but it's a bit of a trek to get there. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back.

Terrible last night at this property. A concert outside our hotel room until 4am. Staff did not make us aware of this, nor did they provide and rebate on the room. On top of this the roof top bar was closed the first night.
