Everything was good. Bed comfy and large. Good view from room. Breakfast ok

Great place,minutes to the castle walkable Friendly staff

Room was nice. The kids had a separate room with bunks. But the bathroom had spider webs, so maybe needs cleaned but more. Conveniently located and close to shops and stuff.

Our stay there was good, staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is older. Easy walking distance to the castle and to some other attractions. Walking distance to the train station up a mostly gentle hill.

Very picturesque town with lots of history.

It was a nice clean room maybe a bit tired and in need of some updating.

Stayed a number of times and it seems to have gone down here quite a bit had to wait 39mins just to check in

Adding 8 pounds every time you get room see is a bit much of a money crab

Stayed in this hotel for a 2 night weekend break with my Mum. Hotel bedroom was perfect but the bathroom needs major work and a really good clean. Bathroom door was grubby with chipped paint all over. There were dirt marks in places, especially around the floor. Breakfast was a disaster. We went in at 9:10 and there was no scrambled eggs, 1 fried egg, no hash browns and no potato scones. The bacon was like rubber but the sausages were OK but lukewarm. Asked the lady and she said it would not be long. 25 mins later and still nothing replenished. The reception - allocated our room on 2nd floor with 15 steps up and no lift. Mum is 80 and 2 heavy cases. Asked to be changed. Got to that room and it was a double not a twin as ordered. Went back to reception. Moved from 3rd floor to ground. Cases had to be moved again. Receptionist did volunteer to get someone to move us, but could not say how long. Did it myself. It took in excess of 2.5 hours from check in time to get us the room. The receptionist, who talked extremely loud, was just not aware of her customers or what they ordered. Hence rebooking a double room rather than twin. After she started trying to rebook me she disappeared into the office space at reception. She got into a conversation with another receptionist around the work load, how busy it was and how tired she was. In the meantime I was standing at the reception desk waiting for her to come back with the new room details. The other girl told her to sit down, rest and have a cuppa as she agreed she must be exhausted whilst she would deal with it. Assuming I am the it. Overall this is a beautiful hotel but it does have major issues. Especially around breakfast and reception.
