Majestic Victorian pile. Busy at check-in, comfortable rooms but lighting was very dim which made it difficult to see. Hot buffet breakfast £14/ head was OK, but the coffee was undrinkable.

"Great location, charming old building, some improvements needed"

6.0

Great location minutes walk from the beautiful castle and nice wee town. Lovely, charming old building with lots of history, also reasonably priced with nice staff who seemed very hard working. Beds were comfy if a bit soft and squishy. Pool was nice but spa changing facilities dated and worn. Breakfast very disappointing, all self service, nothing cooked to order, no porridge or salmon as would be typical of a 4 star Scottish hotel. Hot food looked very undercooked.

"Disappointing"

4.0

Not a 4 star hotel. Very disappointed with our stay. The pool was in need of a very good clean and refurbishment. The ladder to the pool was broken and Half the pool was closed off for swimming lessons with parent sitting round the pool and children in the steam room and sauna. This was not the relaxing visit we expected. The room was nothing special even after paying for a deluxe room. Not worth the money. The room was clean but could do with a refresh. The Shower in the room was awful. I was was lucky enough to use the spa. I had a massage which was wonderful. I think her name was Britney. So kind and enjoyed my massage so much. I would recommend her to everyone, The reception staff were unfriendly and rude. Would not return

"Stirling a wonderful part of Scotland "

10.0

The hotel was easy to find, well appointed with nice amenities. Its central to Stirling with plenty of interesting places close by. Shopping is a stones throw away as are restaurants and bars with a nice vibe, the hotel requires its decor updating. Would I stay here again YES ABSOLUTELY.

We booked via Hotels.com and it was a reasonable deal, but we were unaware of additional charges that were not highlighted. We were charged £10 per night for car parking, as we did not book direct with the hotel. To be fair this was in the booking small print, however we were also charged £10 to use the leisure facilities, which was NOT mentioned when booking. I hate hotels that add on random unexpected charges that you are unaware of. The hotel is perfectly fine for a short stay, the bed was comfy and the room was generally clean. However the hotel is quite tired and could do with a refresh, for example black mould on the grout in the bathroom and grimey tiles. The leisure facilities are also tired and not particularly clean. The steam room and sauna were good (but obviously not cleaned as there was a discarded cup in the same place over the 2 days). The spa pool was unfortunately cold, so it wasn’t pleasant to sit in. The swimming pool was fine, though again tired with maintenance needing done (eg pool ladder out of use). I had forgotten my flip flops and wasn’t particularly happy walking about the pool areas. We didnt eat at the hotel, but would recommend Cafe Aina just down the road for authentic Greek food and the Crossed Peels a short walk away for breakfast.

Right in the center of town and near the castle. The room was great, the dining was nice, and it was wonderful to have sheltered parking right on site.

Beautiful area and great location of hotel to everything. Hotel rooms and in particular bathroom are old and in need of a renovation.
