Doubletree by Hilton Pleasant Prairie Kenosha, WI

My friend and I arrived to the DoubleTree By Pleasant Prairie Kenosha on July 18th at about 10pm. I had requested a feather-free room and was informed that the room was not feather-free... that only the second layer of pillows (beneath the top ones?) were feather free and that the comforter was also not feather free, but perhaps a few blankets were provided. With help from my friend, I discovered only one of my pillows was synthetic. I'm not sure how I would've handled the situation if I didn't have a friend without the allergies to assist me. The attendant truly did not seem to know what to do or how to handle it, and while he was at least trying to help, it really wasn't enough. I don't understand what chain of failures led to me being in this situation, if he was simply left with a problem he couldn't fix by himself because of housekeeping, or what. While my allergies are not life-threatening at this time, I deserve comfort in a room I'm paying for without threats of rashes or breathing trouble, both of which I get from goose down and duck feathers, and have since childhood. Apparently the attendant had to search every store room for a second pillow, and then I had bare spare blankets. It's not the worst thing in the world to sleep on a basically bare bed with a blanket and two pillows, but it is pretty disgusting to be charged $300+ for it. If it hadn't been so late we might've simply looked elsewhere. I've never once had this kind of issue asking for a feather-free room. The next day, before my friend and I took off for the Bristol Ren Faire, I informed the front desk of the issue and by the time we returned in the evening I had a fresh set of pillows and blankets made up with sheets to better serve as a comforter. So accommodations do exist! I simply don't understand why this was an issue in the first place. I do want to point out that the service I received the second day and when checking out was exemplary, and I asked for a discount on the bill it was granted without question, though $60 doesn't really seem like enough for an entire night of bad sleep on my part, especially since I'm supposedly a Hilton Reward Member. What a disappointing situation. We stayed here last year and had a lovely time, and that's why we were willing to pay a bit more this time around. It seems we'll be looking elsewhere next year for the Faire.

I stayed at this property in a suite after having surgery so I could recover for a week before flying home and I really thought they had put me in a room designed for little people because the toilet was so small until I used the public facilities outside of the restaurant and they were all just as short. Their laundry facility was not working and they told me I could walk a half a mile to the next hotel and use theirs not what I expected at all. I booked this hotel for comfort and convenience and it was neither.

Hotel is very nice. Bed is comfy and the area is very nice.

Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Everything was great exceot the refrigerator smelled like old fish.

Restaurant on site with bar & daily specials. As always, comfortable beds & large bathroom.

Appetizers on bar menu were fairly high priced.
