The Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta

Terrible experience, they are in the middle of construction. Offering no relaxation from the noisy workers all day. Waking me up every morning and all day stimulation when trying to relax by the pool. Booked through Costco travel and wasn't warned before making booking or offered a discount refund afterwards. They have no entertainment here in the evenings making it boring and annoying to be staying here. Especially when the hotel next door is having shows every night you can hear until 12am. Half the restaurants are closed and they offer you nothing to compensate for all the inconveniences. They should at least offer some all-inclusive at the one bar open and few restaurants available during the construction or partial refund. The staff is friendly and that's the only nice thing I have to say about my experience. Go somewhere else on trip.

Beautiful resort located in the Marina area of PV! This is perfect if you don’t intend to leave the resort, and enjoy pool and beach time. I will note that resort was under construction in preparation for the all inclusive switch, but it wasn’t anything super distracting. I am very excited to come back to this property once it’s an all inclusive! The pool area is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Highly recommend!

The resort is undergoing renovations with a May 2026 launch of the new All Inclusive Resort experience, unfortunately we have to listen to constant jackhammer noise throughout the resort. Very disappointing that Bonvoy did not flag this on the website when booking. Although, despite the cacophony of noise all day, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Shout to Audrey, hospitality Manager and Pedro at the Bell desk. Not sure we would return in future.

This is our home away from home. Nothing like the Westin Puerto Vallarta. Such a great location - 5 minutes away from airport. Close the marina allows easy walking access to fine restaurants, bars, OXXO, Starbucks, etc. The new swim out rooms are fantastic. But the highlight of the Westin Puerto Vallarta is the service. From the minute we pull up and greeted with an ear to ear smile and hug from Pedro who remembers our name, and always takes such wonderful care of each guest upon arrival and departure. And of course our favorite place anywhere, the beachfront cabana where Rafael ALWAYS goes above and beyond anticipating every need. Knows our drink orders by heart, bucket of beers always refreshed with fresh ice, the perfect Paloma for my wife, and treats us like are genuine family. Such great smiles, conversation and personalized attention. Regardless of price, we will never find anyone who takes as good of care of us as Rafael does. We try to come at least twice a year, and the reason we keep coming back is because of Rafael. Gracias señor. You (and the rest of the Westin Staff) are the best of the best. The Westin Puerto Vallarta will always hold a special place in our hearts!! My wife and I had our wedding here, and since then we’ve made it a tradition to return every year. It truly feels like our second home which is entirely because of the people. The bellmen are, without question, the best in the business. From the moment you arrive, they remember you, welcome you back like family, and go above and beyond every single time. I have known Raul and Pedro for years and now friends with all as everyone is so genuinely nice and fun! The service around the pool and beach is equally outstanding. Attentive, friendly, and seamless without ever feeling intrusive. Whether it’s a drink, towels, or just a warm smile, the team makes sure you’re completely taken care of so you can actually relax and enjoy the beauty of Puerto Vallarta. What really sets this property apart is that so many of the same staff members have been there year after year. Seeing familiar faces, being remembered, and feeling truly welcomed turns a great hotel into something much more personal. The Westin isn’t just a place we stay—it’s a place we come home to. Highly recommend to anyone looking for exceptional service, heartfelt hospitality, and a resort that truly values its guests. We stayed a week here at the Westin and enjoyed every minute of it. The entire staff was friendly/welcoming. If we needed anything they promptly responded and always with a smile. The pool experience was calming and we enjoyed having our own beach at sunset. We ate at Tantos almost every night and looked forward to seeing our new amigos, Miguel and Mauricio. They always greeted us with a smile and we enjoyed talking to them. Thank you for such a pleasant experience and being our winter escape for a week.

But a relaxing place, music is playing ALL the time, there’s no peace or quiet. Thumping music isn’t what I paid for… terrible place if you want to relax, do NOT stay here.

The lobby, restaurants and staff were all exceptional.

Unfortunately, this property is under going massive renovations. This was not disclosed prior to our stay. The pool bar was open for only 2 days of our stay. Our entire stay was overshadowed by constant construction noise. The spa and gym are both closed (yes they’ve set up a temp gym, but it’s outside and you get eaten alive by mosquitoes). The main pool sign says 18 and up but it’s not enforced as an adult pool. Once the construction is done I’m sure this hotel will be lovey but sadly it left a sour taste in our mouth as we paid a premium and our trip was disrupted. We ended up leaving a day early as we were sick of the noise and they wouldn’t do any refunds of the last day to accommodate. We won’t be back. We do love PV in general though.

Guillermo at Feed Me Tacos gave us excellent service. Pedro the bell captain is always always always do kind in greeting us every day.
