Hôtels Gouverneur Montréal - Île Charron

This hotel needs a complete overhaul. The minute you enter there is a strong odor of stale/old air and it gets worse once you’re in your room. The carpet is stained, wallpaper peeling, various issues in the rooms. Although it was “clean” it never felt that way due to the condition of the rooms. There are very few outlets to charge things. Staff was nice and they did have free breakfast. I would not return.

The hotel is stingy about the breakfast. It’s not self-service and is not unlimited. They serve you the breakfast themselves and you are limited to pick only a few items and only once. The desks, bed frame, other furniture are old. There weren’t enough electrical sockets in the room so we had to plug off the night lamps to plug in our chargers.

Despite its appearance of age, this place was a hidden gem. It's out of the way and right beside the Boucherville Island National Park. This place is perfect, cozy, and clean if you're into nature and hiking. This is not a luxury hotel. The staff were amazing and the breakfasts were shockingly outstanding when it comes to 3-star hotel breakfasts. They whipped up fresh waffles and good bacon/eggs, etc. Great value!

The rooms were clean, air conditioning worked perfect, overall good hotel. I didn't like the location because of the construction on the roads and it was too secluded. Plus it had no view. However, the worst thing was the complimentary breakfast. They were distributing breakfast like we're beggars. Why could this not be a buffet? I didnt have ham / bacon, so asked for a waffle instead and the answer was NO. It was ridiculous. I didn't pay around $300 for the room with breakfast to be treated like that.

Much to expensive for the offered service

Staff is very polite. A lot of space in hotel. Hope they could do more renovation in the future.

What this hotel doesn't tell you is that it is on an island and every night the island is shut down. If you go off the island for dinner, you won't be able to get back to our hotel until the morning. The front desk staff was unavailable until they finally picked up the phone around 3 am and then all they did was whine about how they couldn't do anything at all and it wasn't their fault. This hotel was a disaster.

look like an dated old hotel, not worth the price

The hotel was well kept, clean and the beds were comfy. This is a no BS hotel, simple. The breakfast has ok and they have parking space. I liked it.

Stay was good, only issue was to get cab service. They should run a shuttle every half an hour in morning and night to drop and pickup from metro station. Good if you have your own car.
