Hôtels Gouverneur Montréal - Île Charron

Pet friendly hotel with a good cooked breakfast. Located near recreation areas (park).

It was extremely difficult to find. We spent at least two hours trying to access the Island. Fortunately, Thank God, we met a very helpful woman who escorted us to the parking lot. It was the evening of a massive downpour in the Montreal area. The hotel itself was very good and the staff were helpful.

This hotel seems like it was must have been the place to be when it was built. It's spacious with lots of good furnishings. The beds come with box springs--in contrast to many modern facilities with a wooden frame and cheap mattress that is hard on the back. Plenty of free parking. The facilities are generally in good repair--but this facility is permanently stuck in 1980 as far as anything in the building. The downside for us was that we immediately noticed an odour--that we're wondering might be coming from the carpeting. Being on the 5th floor, we did notice disrepair and debris on the roof from our window. It also seems that some operational costs are being tightly controlled. Although coffee is available in the lobby, it's pay-only, and the "continental breakfast" are served plates whose contents are limited to pre-measured portions. Breakfast items are pre-pared and heated up just before serving. Price is o.k., and the location might be helpful if downtown Montreal is busy, and good beds--but that's about it for us.

I loved the location, available parking and the suites are comfortably roomy, but lack of electrical plugs. Very clean

This hotel was very clean, carpet could use a cleaning but everything else was great. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast included was much better than most hotels and again wonderful staff! Price was great. Location a little further than expected but was manageable.

It was a horrible experience. When we went into the room, it smelled like smoke and the carpet was dirty. The hotel was really old and next to an industrial area with a stinky smell. We checked out after a few hours. They also took $250 from us as a deposit. I hope I can get that money back.
