Château Hotel Grand Barrail

Loved everything about our stay here. The only negatives were the water pressure could be better & the pool didn’t have anyone at the bar, clearing dirty dishes or refilling towels. More staff needed!

The hotel and hotel staff were excellent. The restaurant staff was not. We had lunch yesterday and it wasn’t crowded and the staff was very slow. Today they were worst. We sat in the lounge area on the patio, we asked for the menu, I took an hour and we still did not get it. Other hotel guests wer n n the lounge area and did not get service. Only one group did earlier but they had to get up to get salt because no one came around to check in them. After much waiting, we got up and ask for a table and they said they were full. However, the dining area where we had lunch yesterday was empty. Very bad manners and service was terrible. We had to leave without eating as we had to head to the airport. The sparkling wine arrived late and no one wished me happy birthday.

We had a lovely 2 day stay at the hotel. It’s a great base to explore the delights of St Emilion and Pomerol. Service was excellent, the rooms are of a high quality and the dinner was excellent too. We rented the Triumph TR4 and took it for a spin around the vineyards.

Beautiful grounds, lovely room. Limited food although what they have is delicious. Reception extremely helpful. We will come back

The restaurant had no solution for flies. Flies all over our meal.

Beautiful property Spa area/ pool a bit small and the floors should be wiped down more frequently Offer plastic slippers for the spa as the house slippers just get wet
