"Beware the promises of the Indulgence Package"

6.0

The Lancemore Mansion Hotel has a unique charm and relaxing atmosphere. We recently purchased an indulgence passage. Not much change from $1000 but the write was impressive, with an all inclusive luxury experience. Our stay started with a 1 hour couples massage at LM Spa - magic! We were promised a Heritage room on a high floor over looking the Mansion. Instead we go the lower Superior room at the far end of the hotel. Not the vide I was hoping for. The hotel staff did not appear concerned that their advertising was misleading, and that our package had been down graded. The room was not cleaned very well, with stains all over the bathroom and debris on the carpet. The bed was very comfortable. Only free to air tv was disappointing, as I could not watch the AFL. Dinner and breakfast at Joseph's was excellent. The hotel is not well maintained, with lots of broken features. Overall, we were disappointed with the false advertising and poor value of the package.

"It could be amazing"

4.0

I so desperately wanted to love this hotel. It has so much potential and is in an incredible setting. Unfortunately it is tired and old (the modern wing). It needs some love and attention. We stayed on a Monday night and unfortunately the restaurant was closed. We were able to order food from the bar, which was very quiet, only a couple of other tables. The food took an hour to arrive. When it did one of the mains was so bad we couldn’t eat it. Food was average and incredibly expensive. Such a shame as there were no other options. Overall the staff were friendly and the mansion and grounds are wonderful, but I would recommend doing a day trip over staying here.

"Disappointing"

2.0

A really underwhelming hotel. Rooms are tiny. The breakfast very basic. And I had the most tasteless meal of my life - with the cauliflower steak - a massive head of cauliflower that lacked any flavour and hadn't been cooked properly. My husband was here for a conference and I had come with him after reading great reviews and was left disappointed.

"HORRIBLE!"

2.0

HORRIBLE! The room was like something I’d expect from a 3 star motel in rural New Zealand. Stainless steel bathroom sink - reminded me of a men's urinal. The mains light switch by the entry door also turns off the power sockets. So if you want to charge your phones overnight you need the entry and bathroom lights on. Stupid! The bed transports you to the floor below, that is how low it sunk, my side and hers. So we both slept in a valley with a mountain ridge between us. Brings new meaning to climbing out of bed. The bathroom floors were horribly scummy from soap residue. Mirror was filthy. The shower bath was so small and curved I felt like a bobsledder from Cool Runnings. Water pressure was ridiculously low and whoever decided to put a rain head on a vertical wall is clearly high on the idiot spectrum. The Breakfast was barely edible, all the usual stuff but not very good, the pastries were soft and squishy, clearly a day or two old. At the bar, which is more like a waiting room with a few tables. We ordered a Passionfruit Martini which tasted nothing like Passion Fruit. I complained to the lady and she grumpilly said she’ll get someone else to make it from the same recipe. What the heck? So 10 mins later, her manager, a rude asian guy came over and said they use Passion Fruit liqueur and add pineapple juice. I said that’s fine, but it does not taste like Passion Fruit at all and if the menu calls it a Passion Fruit Martini it should taste like Passion Fruit. He just laughed, and was clearly pissed off and asked me what I wanted to do. We swapped for a different drink which thankfully was ok. Must have been a bad night for the staff as two ladies were crying/sobbing and they were all fighting amongst themselves behind the bar in front of us. Not what we expect from such an establishment. Booked dinner at the restaurant. Ordered an expensive bottle of wine. The server did not screw the opener in enough (I was silently cringing) and broke the cork. She said it was due to the wine being ten years old, lol. Thankfully there was another bottle and she didn’t make the same mistake, however did not offer me a tasting but rather poured me a full glass then my lady. So the pour was in the wrong order and she also poured my lady’s glass from her left. Total lack of training and decorum. The Scallops entree was under cooked and lacked any seasoning. I looked past this and tried to make the most of it. But then the mains duck dish came out, also beautifully presented but had zero salt. I had to complain and we sent both plates back. They presented a new serving and it was a little better but I wish there was salt and pepper on the table. Not what I would expect from an expensive meal. We were then served dessert and the arrogant server (the same rude asian man from the night before) said he “hoped the dessert was the right amount of sweetness”. Referring to our complaint about the Passion Fruit Martini the night before. He could not have been more rude and insulting. I would expect much much more for accommodation charging $400+ per night. This place is amateur central. Clearly lacking staff training and room upkeep. All it has going for it is the charming exterior and grounds. That’s it. I urge you and I do this as a good deed for humanity. Do not let the exterior, glossy videos and website fool you, do not stay here, book somewhere else. If you read this and still decide to book here. Remember, I told you so.

"A Dreamy School Holidays Escape – Perfect for Families!"

10.0

We recently stayed at Lancemore Werribee Park during the school holidays and had the absolute best time with their Little Explorers package – it was pure magic from start to finish! From the moment we walked into our room, the kids were thrilled to find the most thoughtful welcome packs waiting for them – including adorable stuffed toys, activity books, and their own cookie decorating kits. The look on their faces was priceless! There were so many fun, family-friendly activities planned – our favourites were the Mini Day Spa by the indoor pool, where the kids had their nails painted and wore face masks like little VIPs. We enjoyed a relaxed poolside lunch while the kids swam and giggled the afternoon away. Later, we explored the beautiful mansion grounds and joined in on cookie decorating (with everything provided by the hotel). The games in the library, lawn games outside, and a planned movie night with popcorn made it all feel so special and welcoming. And of course, we all absolutely loved the huge, comfy bed – after busy days of fun, it was the perfect place to crash and recharge. The buffet breakfast was another big highlight! The kids couldn’t get enough – there were so many options, and everything was fresh and delicious. It really set us up for the day and was one of those rare hotel breakfasts where everyone left full and happy. A huge shoutout to Jarvis at the front desk, who made us feel right at home and let the kids be kids – which isn’t always the vibe you get in luxury hotels! His warmth really set the tone for our stay. And can I just say – the kids' menu at the restaurant? Phenomenal. Normally I’d hesitate to take little ones to a hotel restaurant, but the food options were spot-on. Everything was delicious and kid-approved. We’d honestly come back just for that alone! Regardless of the weather outside, there was always something fun to do, and the kids didn’t want to leave. We’re already planning to make this our new school holidays tradition. It’s so heartwarming to see a luxury hotel embracing families like this. Thank you to the wonderful team at Lancemore Werribee Park for such a memorable stay!

"Friendly staff and a great place for a family staycation"

10.0

My husband and I enjoyed a staycation with our 3 little kids (5 years and under). It’s a short and easy walk to Shadowfax winery, and I recommend spending the afternoon by the pool and ordering dinner (need to order by 5pm). Everything was easy and staff were friendly. Breakfast was great - my kids enjoyed making fresh juice with the juicer! Werribee zoo only a short drive in the morning. We will be back.

"Beautiful venue, just tired and unclean"

6.0

Very tired, definitely needs a renovation. Definitely not 5* quality. We had to get them to mop our bathroom as there were still stains on the floor. Swimming pool, steam room & change rooms dirty and very tired. Layers of dust and cobwebs throughout the building. Overall cleanness was very poor. Staff all very pleasant and extremely friendly and welcoming.
