Emerald Lake Lodge

La experiencia en general fue muy especial, principalmente por su ubicación inmejorable. El lodge está literalmente en el medio del lago Emerald, y las vistas desde las cabañas son espectaculares. Despertarte rodeada de ese paisaje es algo único. También destaco al staff, especialmente al recepcionista, que fue muy amable y predispuesto, lo cual hizo una diferencia muy positiva en la estadía.

La experiencia en general fue buena pero creo que con algunos pequeños ajustes podría mejorar sustancialmente. Primero, la falta de una heladera en las habitaciones es un problema importante. Veníamos de un road trip de varios días con comida (yogur, queso, etc.) y tuvimos que tirar todo porque no había forma de conservarlo. El lodge no nos quiso guardar los alimentos en las heladeras del restaurante, y tampoco se puede dejar comida afuera por la wildlife. Una heladerita sería un upgrade clave; un microondas, ideal. Es el único hospedaje de todo Canadá en donde me quedé que no tenía heladerita. Segundo, la oferta gastronómica es bastante limitada. Al estar en una ubicación remota, estás obligado a comer ahí, pero solo hay dos opciones: un restaurante de fine dining muy caro o un lounge con precios más accesibles pero con opciones muy básicas (pizza, pasta, hamburguesa, picada), nada muy elaborado ni saludable. Dado que no podés llevar ni guardar tu propia comida, esto se vuelve bastante restrictivo. Otro punto es la conectividad. Entiendo la idea de desconectar, pero resulta inconsistente: no hay señal de teléfono (lógico), pero tampoco hay wifi ni TV en las habitaciones, aunque sí hay wifi en áreas comunes y una TV en el clubhouse. Es decir, es una decisión más que una limitación, y para el nivel del lodge se siente como una oportunidad perdida. Por último, un detalle menor pero relevante: me sentía mal y pedí un termómetro en recepción, y no tenían. Considerando lo remoto del lugar, estaría bueno que cuenten con un kit básico de primeros auxilios. En resumen, el lugar es increíble por su entorno, pero con algunos ajustes simples en amenities y servicio, la experiencia podría estar mucho más alineada con el tipo de lodge premium que ofrecen.

Unique experience!!!! Would highly recommend but also don't want to share this special place because it will get too popular. Rooms are outdated, but the place itself is so magical- so fun to make a fire. Room was not ready when we arrived so we were offered welcome drinks. That was nice. Love the hot tub.

A great location to recharge. The rooms are average although the fireplace is a nice touch. The dining room food was excellent - great GF choices if you're celiac. You'll have to ask though if there is GF bread, buns, crackers, as those aren't listed anywhere. The lounge food offerings were also good.

We found the food at the lodge to be absolutely amazing. And, the staff, was so gracious and friendly. Views, from specific view points, were incredible.

Even in April, this place was like Disneyland crowded. Our room, and I do believe a lot of them, had zero view. It was old and shabby and you could hear everything the folks downstairs were doing. The lodge itself hummed super loudly all day, all night and there was absolutely no quiet to be found. The lights that they had on all over the property were obscene. The only views of the lake were from a fire pit area and the spa but the spa was so tiny for that size of property...room for 4 people max. Totally inadequate. Plus, there was no easy way to access nature. You could not walk around the lake because the trail was solid ice and there was an avalanche blocking a good portion of it. We found it a complete waste of money...no quaint wilderness experience. In the negative reviews, people had mentioned all of these things over and over again.I wish I had read them.

It needs some updating; it’s getting a bit run down. The pillows are waaaay to soft; it’s like laying your head on whipped cream.
