Emerald Lake Lodge

The location is just fantastic, on the edge of the lake, you can't help but be blown away by the amazing views. Staff are great, special mention to Libby one of the serving staff and Tristan on the bar. They were both lovely to Mum and I and made sure we were well looked after during our entire stay. The rooms are comfortable, we were in one of the older rooms ( a lot are being updated) but it was really comfortable with l'occitane toiletries which was a nice touch. The walkways and paths are kept really clean and clear and there are clear sign posts to get around. The shuttle from the car park is really prompt, we never waited for more than 5 minutes. Such a special place to stay. The hot tub is amazing - make sure to have a dip

The clubhouse is not particularly well equipped for a gym, there is just a cross trainer and a bike, no free weights which would be a good addition to a property of this standard and cost. Sadly the Cilantro restaurant was closed for renovation, I would have expected that work to be done out of season

We had an upgrade overlooking the Lake,but 2nd bed was a sofabed which wasn't made up,but was ok for our 1 night stay.The Hot tub & sauna was very nice & close to our lodge.Very nice bar area.Staff were very friendly.

We booked a room with 4 adults,but when going into our room,there were only 2 towels,2 cups,2 glasses 2 robes etc.They had not catered for 4 adults when clearly noted on the booking.Pathways outside were crumbling & need relaying.Need to ask for shuttle to be called as we had to chase.

An amazing place with good service and food and very comfortable rooms. The view of the lake was beautiful.

We were having a great time and had a nice room and fantastic evening. We went to bed after romantic fire in the room fireplace. We woke up an hour later to the smoke alarm blaring and and a room filled with smoke. The lodge had obviously had this problem before as it was posted to call the front desk,as we did. We were not offered a new room and were assisted by the lodge in opening the windows to remove the smoke and turning off the breaker to stop the smoke detector from operating. It was the middle of the night and we were in this 39°F freezing cold room without an operating smoke detector, that was extremely dangerous. We informed the mgr in the morning and the response was blaming us for the problem. They obviously have a flew/fireplace problem that is being addressed by turning off the smoke detector. In hindsight it was a terrifying experience as we got no sleep. The mgr provided free breakfast coupons that was far from equable for what we went through. For an upscale place, I expected more. We lost 2 days of our vacation after this all night issue.

Emerald lake lodge hotel is situated in a very beautiful place. It has all the charm on the exterior. Whilst the lodge we stayed in was disappointing. We looked forward to this particular stay but were met with a litany of issues which I will now discuss. Checking in ... well finding reception was an issue ,our sat nav brought us to the top carpark which guests ,we later found out after we had lugged our cases to the lodges area was completely wrong. There is little to no signage to instruct guests of where to disembark with there luggage. On finding reception we were informed that we couldn't use the top carpark and to go to another carpark down the road. Which in daylight you may see but again poor signage that blends into the foliage with no lighting to draw attention to where we should have gone. Once in this carpark we called for a shuttle bus which appeared a short time later .We were driven to reception and our bags unloaded . (An added note to the car parking is guests who have their own cars are penalised by having to park further away than day trippers. And are forced to use the shuttle bus ,each time you want to leave the lodge in your car.) We then had to lug our luggage down narrow pathways with uneven cobbles and multiple steps to our lodge . There are a lot of these pathways around the lodge which would prove difficult for young families or people with physical disabilities. Not wheelchair accessible. The room was a big disappointment. The room is tired ,The decor is tired and the furniture needs replaced . The bed mattress needs replacing and is uncomfortable. The noise of other guests can be heard through the ceiling. Acts like walking across the floor cause the joists to creak and the noise of someone pulling the case across the floor is similar to a small train overhead. There is no WiFi in the lodge which is unacceptable and if you want reliable WiFi you have to go to the main hotel lounge . Also there is no TV in the lodge. Yes you may want to get away from it but personally we prefer to spend time in our room too . This forces you to spend more time in the main lodge hotel or in the entertainment room .Shared by everyone staying here . The balcony on the lodge is ill equipped with cheap ,dirty chairs so sitting there isn't an option. Also if you want to sit on the balcony you have to put up with the noise of a neighbouring lodge having its roof redone . The noise of this began outside our lodge by early morning. I think it is wholly unacceptable to put guests beside construction areas . It would appear that this establishment has little regard for guests ,comfort ,rest or relaxation. On the plus side the room was warm with the opportunity to light a fire in the lodge fireplace if required. Staff in the hotel generally helpful. Would I stay here again ..definitely not . I'm sure there are better lodges around.

Picturesque, very comfortable and clean accommodation. Great service! Food was mediocre tasting at the restaurant. However, service made up for the flavour.
