Château d'Audrieu - Relais & Châteaux

Good location.good rooms

Service in the grill on the second night was not good.over booked and it was suggested that we ate in the bar on the low bar tables.eventuslly they laid up two tables in another room for ourselves and an American couple who had booked to eat at 8pm. We got our first course at 8.50pm

Everything about the Chateau d'Audrieu is wonderful - from the very warm welcome at check in to all the little extras in the room. Luggage taken care of upon arrival and brought up to my room. Valet car parking. Tour of the Chateau on the way to my room. Bedroom was very large and very comfortable - I was able to spread out which I love doing when in an hotel room! The gastronomic restaurant was excellent - a special mention to the person who worked there. He was on his own and did everything perfectly with a large smile on his face all the time. Well done! Breakfast was also wonderful. A very large choice of things to eat and drink including freshly prepared hot dishes. Check out was also smooth but, of course, sad to be leaving!! Thank you to everyone for my brief but memorable stay.

That I couldn't stay longer!!!

We did enjoy the hotels location and the stunning grounds but it was evidently let down by a severe shortage of staff

We ate in both restaurants - both were very very disappointing. On the first night my wife and I both had the burger in the Bistro - it was probably the worst thing we have eaten in some time. Breakfast selection was very poor and there were no available tables. Too few staff on service so tables not cleared. Nowhere near the standard you would except from a Relais & Chateaux hotel. It was very evident that the hotel was very short staffed in the kitchen and restaurants

The location is superb. The grounds are magnificent. We stayed two nights and left very reluctantly. We ate in both restaurants and the food and service were superb - particularly in Le Savran. Breakfast was also a gourmet meal and was so generous that we didn’t need lunch. The charming manageress couldn’t have been more helpful and even managed to serve us some lunch when we arrived - even though the kitchen had already closed. Our room was wonderful. In fact it was the best place we stayed on our vacation. They also speak fluent English.
