Loved the room and comfortable bed.. shower was awesome! Old school shower head with loads of water .. miss these hotel bathrooms!

Breakfast finished way too early at 9:30am!

There was an air of cosiness and lovely Halloween decor, all done in excellent taste. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly at all times - nothing was too much for them.

We ordered room service one evening and tray remained uncollected for a good 24 hours

Gorgeous decor, bathtub, a little getaway when all I needed was someplace close to the airport. Will be my regular stay when I need to overnight near Gatwick.

Too cold. I asked to have more heat and to turn on the towel warmers and that never happened. Otherwise delightful stay but climate control is an important aspect of comfort for me.

Dan, the manager, was superb. He had only just arrived and was faced with considerable disorganisation which he improved almost instantly. Very personable and changed what could have been a disaster into a pleasant stay. There is still much to do though.

Restaurant and bar service was initially very slow and honestly unsatisfactory. One breakfast order never appeared and apparently the order never made it to the kitchen. Many items of food and drink were unavailable. The staff were young and very inexperienced which led to the poor service and delays. The food, when we got it, was good but overpriced. Things improved dramatically following Dan's arrival. We stayed in three rooms. One was too hot so we were given another room which was excellent but unfortunately unavailable for our third night. The final room, although a suite, suffered from excessive traffic noise.

Staff were cheerful and attentive. Room was clean although the decor was tired.

Room felt very claustrophobic. Ceiling was very low- room felt like it was a converted store room. Breakfast was not high quality.

Beautiful if somewhat tired mansion. Nice room. Lovely staff.

Hopeless wardrobe space. No chilled white wine. No USB points in room despite free Wi-Fi. Exterior and gardens really need some attention. Should really have a wow factor.
