Holiday Inn Express Oxford Kassam Stadium, an IHG Hotel

Holiday Inn Express Oxford - Kassam Stadium Oxford Didn’t even get through the car park entrance as it was coned off. Booking was made a few weeks ago for 3 nights. I went to the reception to ask why car park was closed, and was told my booking had been cancelled due to the government having booked the entire hotel for reasons known to many by now. Anyway, was told by receptionist that they had tried to contact me to tell me booking was cancelled. I’ve had no calls or emails from them at all. Was told we’ve been booked another hotel, however this isn’t the point. Very poor communication (non existent actually) from the hotel. Also, we’d booked a full breakfast for the 3 days with Holiday Inn. Got to the new hotel and were told we won’t be able to have the full breakfast even though it was paid for, only the continental so ended up having to pay extra. Apparently this was authorised by Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn Express, you’ve shown how incompetent and useless your customer service is and you will be getting a formal complaint. Appalling customer service.

Arrived on Saturday to find the hotel closed, even though we had made this booking 2 weeks ago. Hotel had made no attempt to contact us. To find out why the hotel is closed please search on the internet as I am not allowed to post. Apparently we were lucky to be moved to the Hilton Hotel round the corner.

Rooms were decent size and clean

Breakfast was not the greatest scrambled egg beans and sausage that was it disappointing

The beds were very comfortable.
