Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Mankato Hotel and Conference Center, MN

Have stayed at many many Country Inn and Suites in Minnesota and other states.. This one.. although it was outwardly clean, the room had a musty smell and clearly had not been updated in quite a while. The staff was friendly but I guess for in the neighborhood of $250 for one night I would have expected a more up-to-date room/fresh smelling room, also, the mattress was a little bit less than comfortable my girlfriend and I were both quite achy the next morning, the only thing we could connect that to was the bed, we were both pretty restless that night trying to get comfortable.

The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. I am guessing it was built in the 80s and hasn't been updated since. It was clean, but very dated. The carpet is stained. Wallpaper is peeling. The faucet in the bathtub was pulled away from the wall. For the price we paid ($300 a night), I expected something much nicer.

I know it’s a small thing but having the butter at room temperature for breakfast makes a big difference. I have stayed at many hotels with breakfast and this is the first one that you could actually use the butter. The breakfast attendant was also amazing

The air conditioner in the room was so loud it was hard to sleep. It had a regular thermostat but that one didn’t work for the air conditioning

It was obvious from the start that this place was managed by people that cared about the success or failure of the property.

The staff was very welcoming and super helpful. It was a nice room. I will definitely be back.

I won't ever be back. Should have changed hotels from the start. Plumbing issues, dirty smell, linens and pillows were worn out, room was way outdated. I didn't dare the breakfast buffet. The tap water even smelled bad. I asked at check-in if the room was a good one and was assured it was, if that was true I'd not even want to see a questionable room. A knock on the door Saturday morning by the clean and refresh crew who let us know they would clean the room after we left for the day was almost a savoiur. We stacked the dirty toeels to be replaced lfet beds unmade to be changed and expected a room service after speaking directly to them. They never showed up, no apologies, "We clean every third day being the excuse." We would have expected better from this outfit. Over the many years of travel to Mankato I had heard this was a good property. Unfortunately it has fallen from grace. Not a good stay for us at all. Choice Hotels have lost a frequent traveler. Chance make a comeback have been affordeed your group. I am out, never again. Keep my points.
