The room was beautiful and far exceeded my expectations

We liked tge location, option to open wondows, historic building, bed and pillows.

Staff - rude, inattentive etc. Breakfast - poor, every morning they were out of different produce. Poor dinner - every night (we had 6 dinners - halfboard) the same dish looked and tasted different from the night before, male waiter was super rude to some of our group members and the restaurant was smelly. Rooms are dark, problems with water drain in faucets. Check in staff - not very interested. Promised to get back about reservations and never did (I went to the hotel twice to inquire about 14 room reservation for 6 nights in total). When we booked through the Booking.com they were frustrated and did not want to prepare our invoices the way we asked. After a longer conversation the front desk manager finally apologised and gave us the invoices. Overall it was a disappointing stay, knowing that we spent around 20000 euros in total.

Too expensive for a mediocre hotel. Tiny room. Breakfast not included. Dark dreary experience.

Booked a couple of nights for a 25 year works reunion. Stayed in a Club Deluxe which had plenty of space but lacked that typical Malmaison “feel”. The housekeeping was awful. Duvet thrown up, bin not emptied, coffee pods not refreshed … However, all other team member did a sterling job - check in, breakfast room and the fantastic bar. Couldn’t fault the service we received. Bar staff even remembered our order from the first night to the second! Great location, great cocktails, great Eggs Benedict for breakfast. One caution - expect very unhappy taxi drivers if you’re flying into City Airport. It’s only a 10 mins drive!

The location is very good and easy to walk to Victoria Square and Carhedral Quarter.

The hotel is incredibly hot! The rooms are unbearable and even with a fan they don't cool down. The 'standard double bed' is very small and feels like a bigger twin bed rather than double and it was not comfortable in my opinion. We both came away with pain in our backs and feeling stiff from sleeping. The shower door didn't close properly so floor was getting soaked and there is a sign in shower to say that taps can get very hot, so the temperature control was not safe!

Very underwhelming experience. We upgraded to the club deluxe and the samson suite as we were celebrating my partners birthday. Rooms dingy, rock hard bed and bed clothing. Club deluxe room was very nosy with street noise. Had to pay an additional £50 each on arrival for the chez mal deal then were unable to be seated in the restaurant as it was full. So an extra £100 between 4 for nothing as we had dinner plans that evening. Music system didn't work in the suite and no one new how to fix it. Room was grubby needed a good clean, large matt in room ready for he bin. Far better hotels for less in the city
