Vila Gale Porto Centro Hotel

Loved everything about this hotel area comfort and room nothing I could knock staff were great breakfast was great

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. I didn't want to leave.

It's a nice hotel for the price and being 5 stars in Porto, but the hotel is pushed off the main road just a bit and shares a large courtyard with a very rundown apartment complex. I only attended the restaurant for breakfast which was a decent selection but otherwise seemed like a very cafeteria style restaurant, which did not match the prices they were asking for lunch and dinner. I had a massage at the hotel spa which was 90% oil and 10% massage, it was pretty gross to be honest. The hotel seems to have this overall theme of movies and movie stars (each room was named after a different actor) but that theme spread only to the room plaque and a few random pictures. Besides that the hotel is plastered with advertisements for this chain's other properties.

The food is great! To be quite honest I didn't focus much on the hotel, it was a romantic getaway ;-)

The hotel is located on a empty building, the room is acceptable, but 4 stars is too much rating for it. The area is not so convenient, and there are better options on the same price level.

About three quarters of a mile from city center. Quiet, clean and adequate room. We didn't visit bar or restaurant but they seemed nice. Pool is beautiful but water a little cold. Bed was hard but that seemed to be in every hotel in Portugal.

Everything was perfect - the room nice, clean and spacious, we stayed in a suite in the 16th floor - fantastic view! The staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing to improve would be food - we chose half-board option but I wouldn't choose it again; the food was all cold or lukewarm, and when we came to dinner at 21.00 (the hours were 19-22), there was no much choice and we felt like we were eating the leftovers. But, besides that - really recommendable place!

We enjoyed our stay in Vila Gale Porto. The hotel was close to the city centre, so we could walk instead of taking a bus or metro. The staff in the hotel was very friendly and helpful. We booed 4 nights with breakfast. The food was always tasty and warm. The room was clean, however, a little bit too small for 3 people. Overall, we are vey happy with our stay and we would recommend the hotel to our friends.

We spent 1 night in the Vila Gale and were very impressed with the room, breakfast and bar. Breakfast was incredible and was included in the room price.This hotel is located in an area that appeared to be a bit grotty,and requires taxis to and from downtown.Metro and a taxi rank are only 2-3 minutes walk away. The Metro even has instructions for tickets and some announcements in English. You can walk to the main tourist area in under 30 minutes, but be prepared for climbing the hills!" Reception staff are not as warm as they might be
