Scandic Stuttgart Europaviertel (Neueröffnung/Reopening)

I needed a hotel which was clean, comfortable and, ideally, within walking distance of Stuttgart's city centre. The Mercure passed this test with eaee. The staff were efficient and friendly. The room was spacious and well-equipped:free in-room wifi was especially welcome. My only issue was the restaurant prices: €18 for a continental breakfast was not great value for money. The cooked breakfast nedded more attention because the scrambled egg was like rubber and the bacon excessively fatty. For that price I'd expect better.

Noisy hotel generally, sirens screaming by at all hours of the day & night, trams, noisy kids running up & down the corridoor, guests slamming doors, arguments from other rooms, never using this hotel again. Didn't provide us with cups for hot drinks, didn't replenish stocks, only plus sides were room service meals are great & the staff kept our luggage by after check-out time.

My girlfriend and I visited Stuttgart for the Christmas markets and chose the Mercure due to it's proximity to the train station and city center. It was only 15 minutes walk and the tram was only 3 minutes walk away. The room was a nice size with a king size bed. Coffee and tea facilities were good and it was nice to see a complimentary bottle of water. We were pleasantly surprised to find 2 chocolate santa's at our door the morning after our first night's stay which added to the seasonal feel. The bathroom was clean and shower nice and hot (great for coming in from the cold!) Would definitely stay again.

Close to the local trains, met our needs and had nice rooms. Acceptable accommodations that provide good access to city center and our destinations at Porsche and Mercedes Benz Museum.

Good hotel, met all my needs

Good hotel for the money. Our room had a lingering smoke smell from prior guests but overall the room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

On plane unexpected husband had stroke - Delta A/L was wonderful and helpful- 2 doctors on plane assisted - German Emergency waiting for us when we landed. Clinic excellent - stroke was a mini so no damage to brain. After 3 days bed rest we were able to continue with holiday plans. Was 44th trip to Europe (40 on Delta). Highly recommend Mercure City Center Hotel - excellent location, clean rooms and entire STAFF helpful and kind. A trip we will not forget.

First time using Mercure - thoroughly recommend - staff superb - hotel good - clean - friendly. Breakfast excellet - evening meal good (again brilliant bar and waiting staff. Used Mercure again in Cologne - same excellent service. Secure parking - easy to find and an extremely pleasant stay.

Problem was, they told us that breakfast was included and had been prepaid. On check out we were told that it had to be paid for. Quite a financial shock to be charged 114 Euros. Not good!
