Albatross Hotel

The main elevator was not working , we were sent to the elevator at the back of the hotel. Took the elevator to the second floor, after looking around, this was still not the correct level. Went to the next floor and still had to carry our suitcases down half a flight. Our room was as far from this location as you could get and the hotel is so convoluted we had to go through doors and ramps to get to our room. Thus hotel is very noisy. You can hear people talking and coughing in the room across. This person left at 4:45 am banging the door and exit door. Then a semi truck started outside our room and idled for 15 minutes. The worst sleep we have had in 2 weeks in Newfoundland. I would not recommend this hotel other than the great service from the waitress in the dining room.

The rooms and lobby looked tired. Needs some work. Room directions are confusing. Couldn’t find our room as the hall indicators didn’t include our rooms. Finally told to use the elevator using the 4 th floor button to get to our 2nd floor room.

Le personnel très gentil et serviable

La nourriture au restaurant surtout le souper. Langues de morues non cuites. On nous a dit que c’était la façon de les cuire!!!! Le fettuccini alfredo qui nageait littéralement dans la crème avec ses 2 crevettes. Une vraie soupe.

Room was dusty, window dirty, poor layout with split washroom/bath facilities, uncomfortable beds, very limited electrical outlets - especially bad if trying to charge phones, etc.

Easy to find. When you pay for 3 people, it would be nice to have enough towels for 3.

Great breakfast special!
