The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius

Beautiful white beach and turquoise water. Remarkable Beach set up facilities with lavish beach towels and water sport facilities. Delicious Restaurant on the rocks . Decadent warm water swimming pool. Divine piano lounge . Romantic fire and candle dinner on the beach under the stars experience. Elegant , supreme dinning setting..outstanding gym and Spa facilities...etc....and the very politeness, smile, and elegance of the staff.

We stayed in the luxury villa 204 for a week. My wife was 5 months pregnant so we just wanted to relax. The hotel and staff made this very easy with our own beautiful private pool, excellent in-room dining, wonderfully thoughtful and friendly staff and loads of small touches that made the trip so special. The weather was variable but in the lush surroundings of the hotel gardens, it didn't matter as it still felt calm and relaxing. I used the gym which was fine and well taken care of. The variety of water sports offered was superb and the staff there were great. The spa is more of a room with massage beds in and is probably a bit too expensive for what it can offer but this was the only downside to the hotel. The hotel was placed near to the botanical gardens which are definitely worth a visit if you feel like an excursion. Overall, fantastic hotel and I would say that it is not matched in Mauritius for quality. We walked around many of the others on a few of the island's beaches and they seemed busy and less luxurious. Five stars all the way.

Personal attention to detail is amazing !! The GM and management staff are to be congratulated fir finding the right balance .

I highly recommend the Oberoi in Mauritius. The service is so personal and some of the best we've ever had. The rooms and the grounds at the hotel were also amazing. Beautiful pools, beaches, watersports - it was fantastic!

Good break after rigorous African safari. Drinks and meals were expensive. Overall experience of being spoiled.

The staff at this resort are superb! Immediately and constantly attentive, whilst never intrusive. Within minutes of online booking, I get a phone call to confirm and thank me, and ask if I needed a courtesy limo transfer from the airport. We arrived early at the Oberoi to be greeted personally by name as soon as we pulled in. A valet took the car keys and took care of the luggage while we were ushered to a beautiful patio overlooking gardens & served a refreshing cocktail, given cold towels during registration. We were escorted to our pavilion with walled garden, thatched covered dining area, sun loungers & private pool. The suite was large and stunning. The photos online at the hotel web site are very accurate. The public areas are immaculate & picturesque & have a tranquil feel with quiet places available (seats / sun loungers.) There were few children. The guests were mainly couples. The hotel gave us a local mobile phone pre-programmed with useful numbers and were happy to print google maps to our excursions. The resort offers a selection of complementary water sports: glass bottom boat tour, snorkelling, water-skiing, sailing, kayaking. Anything you'd like to do, the concierge/reception staff are happy to coordinate and are professional and easy to work with…lots of nice little "added touches" throughout our stay. If you can afford to stretch your budget, then book this hotel! You will not regret it.

Our first visit to Mauritius, this was a fabulous stay which far exceeded our expectations. Stunning location and resort with wonderful staff. We can't wait to return.

Great and relaxing stay at Oberoi for a week. Had a conference elsewhere but chose to stay at Oberoi. Given my tenure there, I expected in-room dining and the main restaurant to KNOW my needs- I did order the same breakfast every morning around 7am. By day 4, staff should already be very familiar with my meal preference and not ask so many questions (how would you like your banana pancakes..thin like crepes or thick like pancakes? do you want your hot chocolate with almond milk?...yes yes same as the last few days.) So I did get tired of repeating myself. even when orders were repeated and confirmed, I still had errors in my food servings. my breakfast was not delivered one morning etc.Otherwise great service but communication across staff needs to be improved.

Perfect for honey moon! Thy resort itself is a piece of art work, with beautiful garden and statues. Watching the sunset beside the main swimming pool was stunning. Super polite and detail attentive staff. Lovely surprises in the room everyday. Definitely a memorable hotel experience and totally worth the price. The service they provide is art.
