The Lakeview Hotel, Shanty Creek Resort

I have to be honest. The photos make this place look amazing. It's fairly outdated and the cleanliness of the overall property was pretty disappointing. There are all these windows and they are dirty - not just like water spots from rain but just filthy from not being cleaned or maintained. The place itself is outdated. The elevator takes forever and I can't exaggerate it. One of the days we were here someone had vomited in front of the loading area. I told someone at the front desk at around 9 am. I came back around the same way later and the vomit was still there at 6 pm. It was horrible, and I couldn't believe they hadn't taken care of it.

I definitely recommend this area. Nice resort with some convenient restaurants. Super close to Torch lake and downtown Bellaire.

Great view of the lake, sauna and jacuzzi and steam room is a bonus!

Grounds were beautiful, but the property itself needs updating.

Beautiful hotel. Reminded me of a hotel from the movie Dirty Dancing.

Wasn’t worth the money per night. Very old and loud. Breakfast buffet was empty for $20 a plate and only one person cooking omelettes to stock food. Need more at Starbucks’s that isn’t Starbucks.

I loved everything about it, outdoor pool, indoor pool, big property, a mini downtown with 2 restaurants and 2 bars within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was great too!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Resort. Everything was to our liking. If I had to suggest something, it would be lake access for guest from the shuttle. We wanted to see the lake but only found private places to view from. And also there wasnt any local shopping. Overall it is a very nice getaway. We loved it.
