The Royce

Flawless experience end to end - no ask is too much for the team, they made our wedding so elevated, staying in a Loft Suite the night before and for two nights after was the best choice we made. Honestly such an elevated hospitality experience from beginning to end, not to mention the hotel itself is just beautiful. A big shout out to KC and James for making us feel so welcome. We will certainly be returning!

The Royce hotel is without doubt one of Melbourne most beautiful places to stay. The staff are amazing and understand service quality. Rooms and hotel spotless. I will definitely be back to stay.

Getting There / Arrival: The hotel is about a 30–40 minute drive from Melbourne Airport. Its location on St Kilda Road is ideal if you prefer to stay outside the busy CBD while still being close—just a quick 10-minute tram ride away. It’s also within easy walking distance of the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. On arrival, we received a warm welcome, and our luggage was promptly taken care of. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and our room was ready right away. Room: A fun detail, the hotel was formerly a Rolls-Royce showroom and underwent a renovation in 2022. We stayed in a King Balcony room with a patio. While the room was comfortable and well-appointed, it was slightly on the smaller side. The patio, located just off the bed, could have been a bit cleaner, though we didn’t end up using it much. Food & Drink: Breakfast was enjoyable, with a combination of a cold buffet, à la carte options, and excellent coffee. We didn’t try lunch or dinner, but we did stop by the Showroom Bar for a late lunch and drinks. Service was excellent both there and at breakfast. Service: The staff truly stood out—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. A special mention to Gerard, who kindly helped arrange for a bottle of bubbly to be sent to our room by a friend from Hawaii. Final Thoughts: We would highly recommend staying here. Being just outside the CBD made for a more relaxed experience while still being close to everything. If you stay here, take advantage of the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens—especially great for a walk if you’re adjusting to jet lag!

An incredible hotel. Beautifully appointed and service was excellent. Our dinner in the restaurant was amazing and the attentive staff an absolute delight. Would highly recommend.

We booked a suite for a wedding anniversary. On arrival they gave us a nice room - but not the suite we had booked. We raised it with staff and they argued with us and were generally unhelpful, blaming the booking platform and telling us to raise it with the organisation we booked through. It would have been a pretty easy fix for us to leave happy if the staff had been gracious, apologetic and helpful. Instead they argued. Restaurant staff also inattentive. Room was nice but make sure you get what you pay for - the room we were given was $200 less than the suite we had booked. Overall poor experience and all down to the staff - definitely not what you expect when booking into a hotel (supposedly) the calibre of The Royce.
