ARRIVE Wilmington

The hotel has a nice courtyard and outdoor bar - when staffed, which it often wasn't when it was supposed to be. We found service in general to be an issue at the Arrive. The receptionist didn't return my smile when I arrived and was curt and not very nice when telling me I couldn't check in since the reservation was in my husband's name and he had to be the one checking in. My husband wasn't with me at the time because he was staying with the car on the street since there wasn't a designated place to park for new arrivals, which was also annoying. Our third floor room (no elevator) was small - all bed. The shower was good though. The day we checked out, we went to another place down the street for breakfast and when we came back to our room, at 9:00AM, housekeeping had stripped the bed and taken all the towels, but no one was in the room. Check out time was 11:00AM. When we checked out about 5 minutes later (since it seemed we had to), we told reception about it and the person seemed very defensive about our experience, like it was our fault for leaving the room with our suitcases to put in the car, and then having the nerve to return to the room two hours before checkout time. How did they know we were gone and why did they think we were gone for good? Strange. We have family in the area and will be returning to Wilmington, but we won't be staying again at the Arrive.

We stayed for 4 nights at Arrive Wilmington to celebrate our granddaughter's 21st birthday. Great location in the historic downtown district, charming courtyard, fire-pits, restaurant, cute gazebo bar, friendly staff. But I came away with feeling like it's rather money grubbing. Refrigerator full of trendy non alcohol drinks, lots of junk food, all with inflated prices. No coffee maker and no coffee in the lobby unless the restaurant is not open in the morning (one morning out of 4).No valet parking, so toting luggage down stairs from the paid parking lot. Our room was a "suite" but actually smaller than a King room. I guess it depends on what one expects in a supposed high-end hotel.

On the positive side the staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a very good location with easy access to a lot of downtown restaurants, stores, etc. The courtyard is very nice and affords you the opportunity to unwind and relax. The rooms were clean as well. These are some things to consider before you book a room here. There is no elevator so we had to drag our luggage upstairs to the room. There is no onsite parking. There is limited parking across the street. The registration is awkward as you may have to park illegally to register. My bill contained a $15.00 destination fee charge per night ($45.00 total) which "Includes 10% off F&B and a Welcome Drink, a discount to local fitness, and also a reduction of Pet Fee to $50+ Tax." We did not use any of this, so we felt like we were just charged by the hotel as a way to generate more revenue. If you are paying $300 per night for a room, it seems like you would not be charged for something like this. I can understand it if you use it, but not being given the option to decline it is beyond disappointing.

I visited Arrive Wilmington for my cousin’s wedding in April of 2026. I was expecting an average hotel experience, with some local charm. I was blown away by how wrong I was. From the moment I stepped foot in the reception desk I was greeted by amazing staff, beautiful accommodations, unique relaxation in the heart of a busy downtown, and excellent food. Upon arrival I checked in with Olivia who had everything prepared and ready for my families staggered arrival. Immediately, I was impressed by her welcoming nature and attention to details. Throughout my first afternoon and night, Olivia was the “go to” person for questions about the surrounding area and provided excellent recommendations. She also was attentive to concerns regarding the peace of other guests and the enforcement of hotel policies. As someone with asthma, I always worry about enforcement of smoking policies, but I didn’t have to say anything when a guest decided to break the “no smoking” rule. Olivia respectfully reminded them of the rule and offered potential solutions. She truly was a joy to meet and enhanced the trip. The next morning, we had the fortune of meeting Christina who was, at the time, working in the excellent Dram Yard. The restaurant offered a wonderful ambience and AMAZING food that made it hard to go anywhere else when considering meals. But the real gem of the Dram Yard experience was Christina who quickly demonstrated skill in bartending and as a barista. I recommend the Honey Vanilla Latte! Throughout our stay, we interacted with Christina frequently who always offered kindness, humor, and a warm welcome. We continued to be impressed with her knowledge of the area, her skill and aptitude in her work at the Dram Yard, and her dedication to enhancing the experiences of guests and patrons. The rooms at Arrive Wilmington are unique and exciting. With nautical theming and unique room layouts, they make an experience feel glamorous and exciting. I love the layout of the bathroom and the stylistic choices that accented an already luxurious space. The rooms and linens were spotless. If you’re looking for excellent lighting and mirrors, you won’t be disappointed, adding to that feel of luxury and glamour. The property was comfortable, cozy, upscale, and catered to so many different types of families/parties. As wonderful as the accommodations were, nothing compared to the friendliness of the staff. Another staff member, Kevin, was kind and helpful when I couldn’t figure out how best to plan the rest of my day. In addition to his own numerous tasks, he helped me figure out how to achieve the goals that I had a limited time to enjoy. The staff is truly the pièce de résistance of Arrive Wilmington and take the wonderful experience to an entirely new level. They embody the concept of “southern hospitality” and made me feel at home away from mine.
