Cliff House at Pikes Peak

We were going to give it 8/10, but, since we were coming from the Broadmoor we feel the comparison unfair, so we gave it 9/10. We especially want to support any person or company who will preserve historic hotels. Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Also, loved all the historic photos and the heated toilet seat.

It is always challenging and costly to maintain historic hotels. We noticed some rotten outside rails, a leak of some sort in one hallway, scuffs on many of the wood doors, and noisy heat and vent fans.

The outside of the building is pretty! I wouldn’t say it necessarily looks like the main photo you see with all the greenery but it has a cute vintage vibe! also, the little bar/restaurant was nice!

the valet staff weren’t very helpful (when we needed something from the vehicle they walked us out to the parking garage in the dark, went back inside, and had us go get suitcases from upstairs rather than pulling the car around?) and the front desk staff weren’t very kind (except for this one man, i just can’t remember his name but he was nice!), the rest of them just seemed snobby to be honest. we had just spent the past 6 nights at the Garden of the Gods Resort, and the service and staff was impeccable so the Cliff House may have seemed more subpar in such close comparison. if you have a choice, stay at the Garden of the Gods Resort!

We love it, not our first stay. Try and celebrate our anniversary there each year. We are getting much older.

Room heater a little noisy.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary by staying at this hotel. We've stayed here several times over the past decade. We had a suite that included a gas fireplace, mountain view, and large hot tub--and it was a very good value. The ambiance, especially during the holiday season is fantastic--charming, historic, and romantic. But it has gone downhill over the years, and they seem to have stopped touching up and renovating as most places would. But on the other hand, the history is part of the charm and it was a good value.

The hotel is nice and well maintained. Comfortable bedding and the bar/grill has nice affordable options. We had an issue with the room, however director Cara, I believe is her name handled everything professionally and thoroughly to make up for the issue we were having with the room. What could have ruined an evening was made up by the professionalism and kindness shown by Cara. Thank you.

The room was clean the bed was comfortable it was very well stocked plenty of towels and soaps. The location was excellent. We will stay again just for that. The staff were great. Very professional, friendly. Great service.

The water in the shower did not get hot it was just barely lukewarm. The temperature in the room was hard to control.

The location is convenient, the facility is filled with history, the rooms are spacious, clean, and filled with the necessary amenities. The staff are polite, attentive, responsive, and genuinely kind.
