SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Topeka

The staff, Jeff or Jay was rude. The pool was under maintenance and NO elevator. I book the room for the pool upon arrival when the staff told me the pool is under maintenance, I asked if I could cancel my reservation and not be charged. The front desk staff told me he would cancel it, and I would not be charged due to the poor being out of order. He lied and I was charged the full amount. So there’s that….

Room not maintained. Tub had mold around it. AC unit didn’t work.

Everything was terrible the best thing about us was the bed I guess but even the sheets were dirty

There were roaches crawling in the bathroom we went and told them about it they changed our rooms came back and there was a roach on the wall walking back to our room we then moved rooms where everything look extremely better but the heat did not work and was blowing cold A/C I than asked for a refund and left. Also they advised an indoor pool and when we went to look at the pool it was extremely dirty and greenish.

Close to interstate and other roads on next step of the trip

First room, didn’t have air conditioner that worked. The second room the desk attendant didn’t run the credit card through correctly so someone else was trying to get in our room about 11 pm. I had to go to front desk to straighten out. Scared me when someone was opening our door. Steps could use a good cleaning.

Manager very difficult to deal with, even the staff that works there says she difficult, I Will never stay here again I was charged twice and still haven't received my refund

We got in about 11 pm after a long drive and had 11 more hours to go. Wanted to shower and get some rest. Entire second floor smelt like cigarettes. Our room had little black bugs everywhere we ended up just driving through the night so I am not out money

Convenient location. Beds were comfortable. Staff were courteous. Place was reasonably clean. That's about all I can say that is positive about the facility

Every single light fixture in the room had one of the two bulbs burnt out, making the room poorly lit. A lamp by the bedside had a broken light socket, and the bulb was hanging by the electrical wire. The electric outlet on the lamp was pulled out, exposing the wiring behind it. Only one outlet in the room was functional, making it difficult to charge electronics. There was a sticky toy stuck to the ceiling. The breakfast had a menu, but only half the items were there. We saw two warming pans in the breakfast nook when we arrived, but one had been removed at breakfast. There was a dispenser for batter for waffles, but no waffle iron. Poor selection of breads. Not surprising, given the poor condition of the room. There are also no USB ports in the room.
