The Casablanca Hotel

The location is good, walking distance to a beautiful lakefront path and close to downtown Grimsby Staff were pleasant

The hotel was dingy, the AC was broken (we were notified in advance but no other available options), the pillows were terrible and the sink was clogged - it took about 45min for it to drain. It was a sad relic of a hotel that apparently has a spa (terrifying thought) and we could smell the pool but didn’t check it out.

No breakfast and only good thing was the location of the hotel

The Air Conditioner didn't work. It stopped working for more than 2 days before we arrived at the hotel and they didn't fix it or notified us ahead of time, which could have given us time to book somewhere else. They have no customer service mindset. They also taking credit card information including security code on top of scanning the credit card for security deposit. If my credit card information is stolen then I know who did that!

There was no air conditioning and the room was over 90 degrees. No windows to open. No fans. No idea when air conditioning would work again. Hotel did send a message in early afternoon, but I was driving and didn't receive it. Checked in . Found another place to stay. Checked out.

No air conditioning for the entire weekend. Zero effort to fix it. No sympathy or empathy from staff. No urgency to fix. No fans provided, windows didn't open. Absolute nightmare. If someone had a medical condition, you would not have even been able to safely sleep here.

The staff were very helpful and polite, went out of there way to accommodate the best that they could.

It was an extremely hot day and the AC was broken No communication from them until arrival. Rooms looking tired, wall paper peeling, very thin sheets.

Location Was easy to find

No air conditioning. My room was horrendously hot. I had to sleep with the door wide open all night just to get some bit of air flow The whole building was like a sauna, being given a heads up or choice to go elsewhere should have been communicated , rather than the staff pretending it had only just happened that day. There were people leaving with fans the next morning The bathroom sink was clogged so badly water did not drain at all , even after my husband went looking for a plunger. The sink was filled with all kinds of lids from toothpaste tubes he said Due to attending a wedding in the area we were unable to drive home or else we would have left immediately rather than staying the night in that hotel

Very nice room! Clean and spacious

It was very hot. Ac was all the way up and it never cooled. The front office did supply a fan.
