Quality Inn Des Moines North

It was an easy off/on to the highway.

This place is old and tired. It is also right next to a Motel 6. I didn't exactly feel safe in this area. The carpet was not very pleasant looking and I kept shoes on at all times. The towels were threadbare. I got up early and packed and back on the road at 645am.

Front desk was super friendly and helpful. Our room was mostly clean with exception to one of the bed covers (badly stained). AC worked initially, but overnight it either stopped working or became inefficient because the room heated up by morning. Breakfast was average, and we left with full bellies.

After reading reviews, I didn't expect to stay for breakfast. Just wanted to get some sleep and leave. But everything was wonderful, including hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, good coffee and lots of other choices.

As I was driving away, I realised I had left my dogs favorite toy and a phone charger. Called to ask them to hold it at the front desk, and I would come back to get them. But they said housekeeping just finished cleaning my room and didn't find anything. Dropped review from 10 to 6

Limited breakfast selection - scrambled eggs, 1 slice of white bread and waffle mix. Pool is unheated which was not as refreshing as you would think after 12 hours of driving. Bed was adequate. Room was fairly quiet and shades did well to keep it dark.
